10 dead in California WILDFIRES

Also big fires to the NE of LA. Due to the record heatwave

--------------------------

At least two other people have died in the dozens of major fires that have forced tens of thousands of people from their homes in the San Francisco Bay Area, wine country and portions of the Sierra Nevada. A Pacific Gas & Electric utility worker assisting with advance clearing was found dead Wednesday in a vehicle in the Vacaville area between San Francisco and Sacramento. A pilot on a water-dropping mission in central California also died Wednesday when his helicopter crashed.

In Southern California, firefighters worked in high heat to increase containment of fires in mountains north and east of Los Angeles. A huge fire also burned in the remote Mojave National Preserve.

California is a dangerous place to live and going forward it will only get worse due to the chaging climate. I expect property prices may fall

  • There are now 26 major wildfire incidents raging across California
  • The fires in the state's wine country alone have doubled in size since Wednesday, now covering 131,000 acres
  • Up to 62,000 residents have been forced to flee their homes with fears 100,000 more may need to evacuate
  • Residents running from the flames are forced to grapple with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and thick smoke that has caused the state's air quality to plummet
  • Locals say they feel 'trapped' between the pandemic, the fires and the air quality
  • California now has the worst air quality in the world, ranging from 'very unhealthy' to 'hazardous'
  • NASA satellite images show how the smoke is now spiraling some 600 miles into the Pacific Ocean
  • Five fatalities were reported as of Thursday evening and two people are missing

My daughter in law is over there at the minute, she said it is terrible.
She wanted to bring the kids back over here but has to wait until December as her ex wants them over there.
Quite frightening,

climate change is too abstract to associate directly with forest fires, it would be equally accurate to say it was gods will
