Winchester School bus crash :'Massive bang' as roof torn off after hitting bridge
These Bus Drivers
can they not understand Double Deckers can not go under a low bridge? This keeps happening. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-eng...shire-54104084 https://news.sky.com/story/several-s...shire-12067933 https://e3.365dm.com/20/09/768x432/s...20200910115618 |
...you’ve said that the bus hit a bridge and that the roof was torn off, Arista...?...but you didn’t say that it was a school bus and that there are seriously injured children...those families whose children were just going off for a school day.../...it’s just impossible to imagine....I so hope those children recover and my heart and thoughts are with all of the other children as well.../...the impact of the trauma will be very far reaching, I think...really horrendous...

...some of the children on the bus...
"It felt like 'am I going to live or am I going to die' - everyone was crying and shaking, it was a huge shock," "Most of the people hurt just had cuts and were bleeding. But there were some people with bad injuries." |
...it can’t have been the regular bus route being taken, surely...maybe a diversion...the driver should have still known the bus wouldn’t go under but it can’t have been a route/bridge he was familiar with...
|
I wonder if the bus is used is usually a single decker and has been upgraded due to social distancing and the driver was on automatic pilot maybe
|
...Lord, that’s so scary to think of a school bus driver being on automatic pilot while the children are on board...they would have still known that a two decker bus wouldn’t go under the bridge, which makes me think that it might not be a regular route used.../...that’s still no acceptable explanation though, obviously...

Driver of blue Ford Focus sought after school bus crash seriously injures three children...
Driver of blue Ford Focus sought after school bus crash seriously injures three children Police are seeking the driver of a blue Ford Focus after a bus crashed into a bridge - leaving three children with "potentially life-changing injuries". Hampshire Constabulary said they want to speak to whoever was in control of the car, which they say passed the coach shortly before it struck the overhead rail crossing. The incident happened in Winchester at 8.10am on Thursday on Wellhouse Lane and the entire roof of the double decker was shorn from the frame - leaving glass and metal strewn across the road. A statement from Hampshire Constabulary said: “Officers investigating yesterday’s serious collision in Winchester would like to speak to the driver of a car that passed the school bus shortly beforehand.” It added: "We believe the car is a blue Ford Focus, registration ending HPX, with a roof rack and cycle carrier. "The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is also seeking information from anyone who saw the bus on its journey from Itchen Abbas through Easton and Kingsworthy. "Three children received potentially life-changing injuries that required surgery." The children on board were aged 11 to 16 and all were pupils at Henry Beaufort School in Winchester. As well as the three taken to hospital, 12 more passengers suffered minor injuries while the other 57 were unhurt. https://uk.yahoo.com/news/driver-blu...142300830.html |
its a bit of a stretch if they are intending to blame another driver for the bus hitting a bridge
