America or the British Isles?

Where would you rather live and why?

Niamh. 14-09-2020 03:51 PM

I'd rather live in Ireland over the US or Britain

Crimson Dynamo 14-09-2020 03:51 PM

i think living in Alaska is not the same as in Florida or Wyoming and South Central LA

so you would need to be more specific

Its like asking an american if they would like to live in Europe and then booking them a one way to Albania when in their head it was Paris

Only a handful of countries make up this part of the world but all but Ireland make up a unit. It might not be the fairest comparison but even at that there are still arguments for and against either side.

Crimson Dynamo 14-09-2020 03:57 PM

I prefer Scotland

although the weather in the USA is very interesting

Niamh. 14-09-2020 03:58 PM

I did live in London and Boston for a time and I found it much harder in Boston, I found the people much harder to relate to, having said that the vast majority of the people I was friends with in London weren't even British, they were Canadian, Australian, Danish, Swedish etc I only made one very good friend who was actually from London

Ireland is part of the British Isles, you voted wrong in the poll.

UserSince2005 14-09-2020 04:04 PM

I voted the US because I really have outgrown the UK.
London is too small for a man of my caliber at this point.

I worked for an american company for a while and some of the folks were great some were awful (just like in any office) I have worked with quite a few Canadians and they have all been very funny and good people and my ex brother in law is from Toronto and he was hilarious and still is.

Yeah I was friends with a lot of Canadians while working in London, I found their humour much more similar to ours, also they could understand me very easily, for some reason Americans never understand what I'm saying and my accent isn't even that strong, it's weird

How is London too small?

Aside from the hatred, bigotry and all around dickness of the US, it’s got some lovely looking places to live, I can envision myself living in LA at some point when I’ve got nothing left to stay here for

caprimint 14-09-2020 04:11 PM

America obviously

The only place I'd want to live outside of the UK

Seen it all, done it, maxed out the career opportunities.
Just time for bigger pastures.

LaLaLand 14-09-2020 04:12 PM

Both.

Live here at home but have a holiday home in the hills above LA with an infinity pool looking out over that city skyline.

caprimint 14-09-2020 04:14 PM

Oh and Americans >>>> Canadians

I know people always say American people are rude and Canadians aren't (as a stereotype) but I actually feel like it's totally the other way round

I wouldn't say Americans (or those that I've met) are rude, I just always found Canadians more relatable and have better senses of humour (or more similar sense of humour)

Whereabouts in America would you want to go?
