ok explaining the options

A: is like normal which can be possible if

1) there is a vaccine in time and corona is gone

or

2) the speedtest is very trustworthy to put in good use for events to allow only those who tested negative on that day in

B is more realistic for me, all artists in ahoy, social distancing among audience so lesser audience they are still calculating as we speak how many people can be in audience then

C/D are depressing thoughts, but to make ahoy the main hub and then switching to other countries their studio's for performances would also be a valid option, and to make it fair for everyone the EBU, and dutch broadcasters will assist in how to make this all come together with ''open up''

and the hosts and online host stay the same

Chantal, Jan, Edsilia and Nikkie

Nicky91 19-09-2020 07:25 AM

also a nice rumour but Cyprus is in talks with Eleni Foureira again :D

and also their 2012 artist Ivi Adamou

but i personally wouldn't mind a complete surprise comeback from their 98 artist Hatzigiannis either, i mean the man had a big summer number 1 hit this year in Horevo

interview with new exec supervisor Martin Osterdahl

To be honest it is appalling that it didn’t happen this year. All the hard work the acts put in just for it to be cancelled, surely they could have pulled together something

no it wasn't possible for this year, but now we got 4 workable scenario's

we hope for A or B of course in one arena with artists, but C & D are still better than cancelling

C or D wouldn't have worked either this year due to lack of time, most work already spent for Ahoy stage etc, in case we need either of those next year, we will guide each country to choose a venue/studio in own country and making it fair for everyone so bigger economy countries need to adapt to the smaller economy countries

I feel like Eurovision last happened 5 years ago

only esc2020 countries left to confirm participation are Portugal, Belarus, UK

Montenegro initially said no to esc2021, but there has been a petition by artists, culture mps to get them back into esc next year so there is still some hope for them

Bosnia said no still heavy financial troubles

Nicky91 08-10-2020 09:39 AM

hope UK is in, and hope James Newman gets a second chance :fc:

one of our ESC (shine a light) and ESC2021 hosts Chantal Janzen had won best female tv host at televizierring gala (dutch tv awards) last night for 6th time, which is a record in that category :)

Nicky91 15-10-2020 06:40 AM

https://wiwibloggs.com/2020/10/14/eu...-cases/257972/

of course it is far to early, i agree with these wiwibloggs journalists

but of course worth mentioning given it is ESC2021 host city

i agree with one of comments there, better now than in march next year

Nicky91 15-10-2020 06:42 AM

if it is like this as it is now, we could see it being option C/D and performances of each country from their own country in a venue chosen by themselves (empty arena of course)

could be not a disadvantage for UK, since you guys got good quality venues, O2 Arena, or if a studio, Abbey Road Studios

Nicky91 15-10-2020 06:45 AM

i am pretty sure Azerbaijan will go for their 2012 venue, for decent staging potential etc, for their act Efendi

for example

Georgia can opt for their venue they use already for their Idol series

North Macedonia got a good enough venue they use for their own festival Makfest

Albania got like a classy arena each year for festival i kenges

Serbia got like their beovizija arena

so these backup options could still be nice either, and it all being hosted from ahoy for the overall tv look, would not be similar to a normal eurovision, but still better than it being cancelled again

croatia for its national final Dora 2021, plans 4 scenario's

seems to be same as esc2021 4 scenario's

Quote:

Dora producer Uršula Tolj is determined the show must go on. She said, “Just as the Eurovision Song Contest will not be cancelled, neither will Dora. Croatia is participating in the competition and continues the resumed tradition of choosing its representative in the national competition.”

With things as they are currently, assuming it's not totally cancelled, I think it being fully remote is inevitable. Each act will be broadcast from their own location with hosts either in a separate studio or from the stage location of their country's act.

It wouldn't be quite the same spectacle but I think it would be fine? I do think they'd have to insist on each country being broadcast live though, and not pre-recorded, since it totally changes the show if they can pre-record several runs and cherry pick the best one.

it isn't being cancelled

the only thing pre-recorded is some of backing vocals, but that is more a experiment (what was in the plans even if it wasn't for covid anyway)

Nicky91 15-10-2020 09:39 AM

that is only important thing for me, that i know via this 4 way scenario plan it won't be cancelled again

performance must be live yes, some backings can be pre-recorded for an extra professional feeling, more quality music but that is more optional you also can opt for all live backings

hosts remain the same as for this year (europe shine a light)

returning artists 2020 line up are

Australia (Montaigne)
Austria (Vincent Bueno)
Azerbaijan (Efendi)
Belgium (Hooverphonic)
Bulgaria (Victoria)

Czech Republic (Benny Cristo)
Georgia (Tornike Kipiani)
Greece (Stefania)
Israel (Eden Alene)
Latvia (Samanta Tina)
Malta (Destiny)
Moldova (Natalia Gordienko)
Romania (Roxen)
San Marino (Senhit)
Slovenia (Ana Soklic)
Switzerland (Gjon's Tears)
Ukraine (Go_A)

and from big 5

netherlands (jeangu)
spain (Blas canto)

Nicky91 15-10-2020 09:42 AM

first national final what we get as usual Albania

its Festival I Kenges 59, which is also a music festival on its own

rules for that are: must be in own language (english versions can be made before or later on if necessary) composers from other balkan countries are allowed (hence Dimitrov who was in last years for the 2020 entry Arilena - fall from the sky (Shaj)

Nicky91 26-10-2020 09:43 AM

we're getting some big news today apparently

but not sure what, so it might a return from a country, or a debuting country, or negatively one of scenario's ruled out

but i hope for something positive, Turkey's return is what i have been hoping for a lot now, or Kazakhstan's debut which might also make sense now we lost Hungary for good i guess and Kazakhs do quite well at junior eurovision too so maybe the invite had been sent and accepted (in secret)

Nicky91 26-10-2020 10:48 AM

41 countries will participate in ESC2021

Nicky91 26-10-2020 10:53 AM

no returning countries in 2021 then

but anyway we do have one returning country what we already know for 2022: Andorra (via susanne georgi's sponsor what she had found somewhere) Andorra didn't want to take part in 2021 contest due to corona, and to give them more time to work on the entry

Nicky91 03-11-2020 09:12 AM

some very good news regarding this, our health minister Hugo de Jonge had announced they had ordered 9.5 million quick tests

which is fab as those give the result within 15 minutes, and they can be used at events like the Eurovision Song Contest
