Tom Hardy for Bond role

so would you like Tom Hardy as the new James Bond after Daniel Craigs final outing?

I say yeah!

Oliver_W 19-09-2020 04:50 PM

That'd be awesome! He's hot!

Liam- 19-09-2020 04:51 PM

Idris

LaLaLand 19-09-2020 04:51 PM

Absolutely - he’s almost made for the role. I mean just look at him! He’s a brilliant serious actor but also great at the tongue in cheek stuff that we associate with Bond.

Love Tom Hardy but I think Idris would be better. Not a fan of James Bond though so not that bothered about it

Shaun 19-09-2020 05:37 PM

would be happy with either Hardy or Elba. A female bond would be silly (and a female Doctor was not at all silly, it's just... a bad show aimed at young teenagers lol)

Now we are talking lads

LeatherTrumpet 19-09-2020 05:42 PM

home wrecker Elba would be awful

Babayaro. 19-09-2020 06:39 PM

Would be an uninspired choice

Tom4784 19-09-2020 08:58 PM

Not a very exciting choice, I'd prefer Idris.

rusticgal 19-09-2020 09:18 PM

If Tom got the role I would start watching the Bond movies again...:cheer2:

You’ve just described Daniel Craig to a tee

:nono:

don't talk trash about one of my personal fave actors

I loved Idris in Mountain between Us

but i wouldn't select him for 007, maybe more opposite to 007, as villain since he can play that well too, as we saw in Star Trek Beyond

Ammi 20-09-2020 11:52 AM

...Idris.....after just watching him in The Fall, I think maybe Jamie Dornan could be a possible James Bond as well...

Toy Soldier 20-09-2020 02:27 PM

I like Tom Hardy but I'm not convinced he would make a good Bond... he could certainly do the action stuff but I'm not sure he fits for the "Charm In A Tuxedo" element that's also a huge part of the Bond films.

I actually (after hating the first episode) finally got around to watching the last 2 seasons of Doctor Who a few weeks back and came round to thinking that Jodie Wittaker actually is excellent in the role when she's given her moments to shine - I hope she gets to stay on long enough for the writing to be on par. Everyone's favorites tend to be Tennant and Smith but if you actually look back on it, they're handed so many opportunities for stand-out moments on a platter, that's really inevitable.

Marsh. 20-09-2020 06:14 PM

Yeah, a female Doctor isn't really comparable. It actually makes the most sense in the context of Doctor Who and the actual character hasn't really changed at all. It's just broadened the scope now for the actors who can play the part. The Doctor has always been pretty gender-less.

The writing, on the other hand.... :umm2:

It was honestly the worst time for the writing to go down the pan, too. I honestly watched the first JW episode and thought "Oh no... it really doesn't work" buuut after watching the whole series I'm like "She's the only part that DOES work at the moment". But a lot of people will blame the decline in.. umm... watchability :umm2:... on Jodie's arrival, which is a shame. There have been one or two pretty good episodes, too.

It did I agree, with you as to Dr Who.

I think the same as to a Bond too
