Aedan Duckworth leaves Hollyoaks with role of Ollie immediately recasted

So Hollyoaks have confirmed he has left but have gave no reason why.

Its unlikely his contract ended because he played a prominent role in the flashforward episode

I wonder what happened.

Is it bad to presume this was drug related?

Re casting doesn't really work in my view.
Far better get rid of the character and bring in new ones.

Sometimes it can work. There have been some very good recasts on soaps.
It depends on the actors they get.

Oh I know that's a matter of choice Vanessa.

I just can't think of any I've witnessed in a soap where I could take the character seriously after recasting.

Perhaps after years of an absence of a character it is better but not right off.
It's even worse when they change the actor multiple times.
I'm trying hard to but really cannot bring up a character re-casted that I think was effective.

For me that's the case anyway.

Martin from EastEnders?
That's a recast that's worked very well.

I can't comment there.
I haven't seen an episode of EastEnders for years.
It would take me to the depths of depression that soap.:joker:

So I'll concede to your view, that re casting of that character worked Vanessa.
