Andrew Neil Leaves the BBC

[Important thread (for me!): With heavy heart I announce I
will be leaving the BBC. Despite sterling efforts by new DG to come up
with other programming opportunities, it could not quite repair
damage done when Andrew Neil Show
cancelled early summer + Politics Live taken off air]

He will be missed from the BBC.

Kizzy 25-09-2020 09:20 PM

He'll have a slot on LBC by the end of the week.

For me Neil is the best political interviewer of our lifetime and no one really matches him on the level of detail and understanding of subject matter

BBC have never been very accommodating though, just look at how they kept pushing This Week back later and later when it was one of their most popular political programs

He's setting up a UK fox replica, although I would trust him to not equal the craziness and conspiracies, but I guess we'll see.

Beso 25-09-2020 09:34 PM

I met him once with my ex wives uncle who worked for Reuters, good laugh in his younger days.

He will be a big miss from the BBC.

He is leaving the bbc to chair GB News, a new news channel funded by discovery, and he he will have a daily show on there. The BBC is a shadow of its former self, it declines every year

Oh so it's finally no secret that the BBC political presenters are predominantly right wing?

We have our own fox news now?... Spiffing.

I wouldn't worry, as an old slice of gammon he'll probably have died of Covid by this time next year.
