Quote:

Police are working to identify human remains that were discovered in Glenrothes.

The body parts were found at an industrial estate on Whitehill Road at 5.20pm on Sunday.

Officers and specialist forensic teams remained at the scene, which has been cordoned off, throughout Monday.

Detective Inspector Christopher Dow, the senior officer investigating the discovery, said: “A full investigation is underway to establish the person’s identity and the circumstances surrounding how they came to be there, as well as what may have happened.

“Enquiries are still at an early stage. We’re contacting relatives of long-term missing people in the local area, and will continue to keep them updated during the investigation.

“Our thoughts are with them all at this difficult time.”

This is the town I live in and in 2013 there was a well known missing person's case where a 23-year-old man was last seen exiting a nightclub about 2 minutes from my old house :worry:

His family have been informed of today's news so god knows what they must be going through right now. Fingers crossed the remains are identified ASAP :fc:

...oh, I do hope so much that this would be a ‘closure’ for the family of the guy missing in 2013...obviously I use single quotations because it wouldn’t be closure as such...but the not knowing is one of the most unimaginable emotional pains, I would say...and I’m so glad that I’ve never personally experienced...his family could properly begin the grieving process..?...

...we also have this very well know local case, which is heartbreaking for Corrie’s family...

As bad as it is, it would be nice for them to have closure and also to know what happened to him, someone going missing from your life suddenly must be just the worst thing to happen to a family
