Great Use of this Gear
He could get up that mountain fast
saving someone if they had a heart attack

Should be up and running in a few months
into next year.

That's great, however it's not without risk for the user. The paramedic could end up more in need of assistance than the casualty :/

Proper Training
I am sure they will be able to Fly up there fast
saving the life of someone.

It could take 40 to 45mins
to climb up normal.

Imagine breaking your legs in a remote field on a hike of the Lake District and being seen to by some tit with a leaf blower on their back

arista 29-09-2020 03:29 PM

Cost £340,000

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best.

A co-worker of mine's wife badly broke her leg in the middle of nowhere actually. She wasn't rescued by The Rocketeer, though, it was six lads with a stretcher.

Mmmmmm not convinced ..

The inventor was on telly tonight raving about the NEW version (still prototype ) which is far better and will fly for 6 minutes !!!!

Suggesting that the current ones fly for rather LESS than 6 minutes !!

That doesn’t sound very long at all in my book !!!!

Yeah! She shoulda hopped.

(In all seriousness though, I believe the bone was out through the skin, a very nasty injury by all accounts)

In the ChooChube video the test pilot got from his starting point to the patient (an actor in this case) in 90 seconds :omgno:. I don't think the idea would be for them to grab the injured person and fly back down... it's really about getting a first responder on-scene fast, especially if someone has collapsed for example, but also there's a risk of going into shock etc. with a bad injury. I'm ASSUMING they would then just stay with the person until other "traditional" help arrived to help them down. Although I love the idea of them grabbing them by the ankles and flying back down the hill :joker:.

It doesn't sound like an injury you would pick up rambling through a remote field.

In Wales they have that bloke and his wheelie bin tearing up the road...be thankfull.

If it’s got less than 5 minutes flying time I certainly wouldn’t be flying very high or going over water as it illustrated ...

I saw footage of a paraffin fuelled jet pack ...

I think I’ll pass on anything like that .. maybe battery powered with at least 30 minutes guaranteed flight time ..
