Do you own an electric scooter?

These seem to be hugely popular atm. Someone's always riding one whenever I'm out and about. I'm tempted to buy one myself.

Who here has one?

The fat druggy across the road from me has one and he looks ****ing ridiculous

Crimson Dynamo 29-09-2020 01:01 PM

i have never seen anyone on one. They sound incredibly dangerous

Dogeatdog 29-09-2020 01:02 PM

I notice a lot of 16-18 year olds driving around on them but I would never get one personally because...

a) I own a car which makes owning one pointless.
b) These scooters are pretty expensive for what they are (I’d rather have a decent mountain bike myself).
c) They do look ridiculous.

I looked into getting one for my son. You do see them about quite a bit now. Why should kids have all the fun!?

AnnieK 29-09-2020 01:20 PM

My son wants one for Christmas...there are a lot of bad reports on them being dangerous and I think at the moment they are not legal to ride on pavements or roads but the government is looking into a change in the law.

They should be regulated, they are a menace on pavements

Beso 29-09-2020 05:30 PM

You can hack them into going 45 mph.

Do not buy them for kids.

you can get up to 30 on one that is not hacked, you should have a licence, I like that they are electric and clean energy but they are dangerous in the hands of kids

I agree, there should definitely be some kind of minimum age and maybe a permit too.

Would be too scared to ride one

Crimson Dynamo 01-10-2020 06:26 PM

As a grown adult, no and highly unlikely I will own one. I had one when they were last fashionable.
