TiBB Music Festival: Pittsburgh 08
4 and 12 February 2021

Official Wikia: Click Here!

It is time to let the competition begin again! I, with Shaun's knowledge AND Riley's (Wizard) lovely ideas, decided to create a spiritual successor to TiBB Eurovision. We've been in Pittsburgh, the Gold Coast, Belgrade, Oslo, Manchester, Rome and Milan, and Copenhagen. Cut to the second week of February, and get ready to "Live Out Loud" in back in the place where it all began, Pittsburgh! What songs will be heard? Where are the constant translations into French? When will the madness end? No idea.

FORMAT

The format of the TiBB Music Festival will remain similar to TiBB Eurovision, however, there are some changes. I will have a Spotify playlist of all of the songs for you to listen to the songs during the voting period. For the voting, there will also be 2 sets of points of 1-8, 10, and 12 points, one for the jury voting, and the other for the televoting.

RULES

- If you want to take part, reply to this thread with the countries you want! But please, if you do reserve a country, I expect an entry.
--From this edition onwards, everyone can choose 1 to 2 countries to participate as.
- In a change from TiBB Eurovision, participants can now choose a song that is already in the public database (look on Spotify or YouTube, there are plenty of songs on either one).
- Lyrics, an artist name, song title AND music video are all that's required.
- Members may only represent two countries, and 1 song and/or singer in each of the other categories.
- Entries must be submitted to me as soon as possible. The events of the contest will take place over the course of a 2 week period.
- And for the first time since Globalvision, countries that are not in Europe or Australia will be able to participate.

You have as much time as you need to find your entries. Please find songs that we all may enjoy, and please don't feel afraid to take part The more entries, the more fun it is to run. Songs can be about anything you like, and whilst we are fairly liberal with what is deemed "in good taste" obviously a song containing 30 different death threats may well find itself lost in my inbox and doomed never to enter.

The winner of this glorious festivity shall also receive a supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics this lovely little award (which has been potentially lost in the TiBB Admin towers)! https://i.imgur.com/pCZ1tmH.png - so if that isn't motivation to bring your A-game, I don't know what is.

Like last edition, the Big 6 (the top 6 of the previous edition) will all qualify for the final. All of the countries mentioned below will be free game (sans all of the ones I have, because some things never change with me, and because of the nature of the new participation rule).

Calderyon 30-09-2020 06:47 PM

OP updated.

Calderyon 30-09-2020 08:43 PM

So 1-2 songs for each category?

Josiah. 30-09-2020 09:54 PM

If you choose to. I'd personally recommend 1 song per category.

Calderyon 30-09-2020 09:57 PM

No, I meant that you have to enter 1 song from each country you have to to each category, correct?

Josiah. 30-09-2020 10:02 PM

For the Grand Prix category, yes. The other 4 categories work like Sanremo, which there are no countries.

Nicky91 01-10-2020 06:08 AM

Netherlands, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Germany, North Macedonia, Greece, Croatia, Romania

Yeah, but apparently on this one 1-2 is allowed. I would have otherwise picked Japan too.

It's in the rules in the OP.

Calderyon 01-10-2020 01:59 PM

From the rules above:

Nicky91 01-10-2020 02:00 PM

ok then i don't take part

Calderyon 01-10-2020 02:02 PM

Why not?

Josiah. 01-10-2020 07:57 PM

Nicky, it's just that because there's so many songs this edition, I had to lower the number of countries taking part (mainly because its such a hassle editing videos). Besides, the songs that you would've used for your other countries can be used in the other categories.

Calderyon, Sanremo has 2 categories: Big Artist and Newcomers. In most cases (in the past 7 years), the winner of the Big Artists round is the entry that Italy sends to Eurovision.

Calderyon 01-10-2020 08:20 PM

So do we choose to enter 1 singer to each category and then 2 song entries (1 from each country) in the GP?

Can the singers be anyone from anywhere? (Ie: not country bound)

Josiah. 01-10-2020 08:29 PM

Yes.

Barry. 01-10-2020 08:30 PM

So one singer, two songs from them from each country

Josiah. 01-10-2020 08:35 PM

Or two songs from two different singers. Whichever option you fancy.
