I don't wish to be cruel, but who takes an arty black and white photo of themselves at a time like that? :umm2:

The pic feels like an intrusion on private pain.
I don't understand the concept of recording everything in this way.
Why would you ever want to revisit that devastating moment again?

This is exactly what I said, it’s a tragedy for them, but who’s first thought is to take a picture of it

I guess people deal with grief in various ways.

My wife wanted to keep it a complete secret from everyone apart from our close friends and family as most people didnt know she was pregnant both times that we lost them.

I share a lot on here as its a good place to air my feelings as I wasnt able to tell a lot of people we know about what happened and plus I also said on here about my wife being pregnant it was good to get it all off my chest(even though a couple of people thought I was catfishing and didnt believe Im a dad in the first place)

So I guess with millions of people knowing them and sharing so much of their life on social media as well as the babys journey they may have felt it was something they needed to do.

But I feel their heartbreak. Thankfully like them we have other children and all 3 of them are stunning and lovely and im so thankful for them. But I will never forget about the two we lost

Yes, maybe that's it we all deal with things in different ways. I've experienced a similar loss, I'm trying to imagine seeing a pic taken at that moment and then possibly seeing it unexpectedly years later, for me I would expect that to feel like the tearing of a healing wound. I'm not strong enough to keep revisiting things like that.

Sorry to hear of your loss too Jake

A posed picture of it. I'm not actually judging them for that because it's clearly something that feels like a normal way to process because of being so ingrained in people's lives these days.

On a wider scale, I find that to be a pretty bleak commentary on the current human condition.

Heartbreaking for anyone to go through.

About the posed photo well my first thought was complete disgust however there are a surprising amount of women and couples that do have these photos taken, I guess people deal with it differently and the photos help some of them through the difficult time infact some hospitals even offer these professional memory type photo shoots.

Not something I would choose personally but I wouldn't judge anyone elses way of dealing with grief.
