Little/ish things that really irritate you

God knows what happened to the other thread (or maybe it’s been here since and I just haven’t paid attention to it) but in case it’s disappeared or been locked I thought it would be a good idea to start another version of it here.

These things can be anything from almost inconsequential to fairly significant but nothing big (aka political, racial, etc.) that irritate you.

Yesterday i came into the kitchen and there was a single teapoon in the sink, dirty.

It was left by the TL's daughter

The reason it was there was that the dishwasher was on

rather than simply wash it and put it away, it was left

that
really irritates me

People who stop to chat in the aisles of supermarkets, rot

...totally at the moment anyway, Liam...when we’re all trying to respect distance and people are in the centre of an aisle so it’s impossible not to be close to them to pass through...

When people say "aks" instead of "ask". It sounds awful.

Strangers standing too close to me
People smoking too close to me
When other people touch my food
When one shoe is tied tigher than the other :fist:
Having to get out of bed to pee before I've even fallen asleep

Yeah, I agree with that!

When people say brought instead of bought.

"I brought a car." :bawling:

This but more people being selfish/unaware(?) about where they're standing. Blocking supermarket aisles is one but my main gripe is, there's a little pedestrian footbridge that I have to cross on the way to/from my daughter's school. After drop off time, there are CONSTANLY groups of parents stoff chatting at the end of the bridge, totally blocking the way past... in fact I'm sure it's not even accidental because if you say "excuse me" they'll shift maybe 6 inches to the side and continue chatting. WHY?? They sometimes do it at the school gate too, blocking the way past for anyone else coming out.

My flatmate does this all the time, except with all his cutlery, glasses and even plates most nights. I end up doing them when Ive eaten as I’m already washing up, but it’s really annoying as I don’t like mess, and it’s almost daily.

One week I decided not to do it and see how long he would last not to do it and then we got a fly infestation after 5 days of his plates.

Needless to say I gave him an ultimatum and said if he ever is like this again then I will move out. I also made him remove all the flies and buy all the sprays needed

It’s a little cultural though.

What annoys me is English people eating rice with a spoon and thinking their way’s the correct way when all they knew for rice was pudding 50 years ago.
