A charm for my Pandora bracelet. Just after my mum died my friend went to my dad's and got my favourite pic of my mum and had a charm made with it on.

I very rarely receive thoughtful gifts but I'm the one who always gives them :bawling:

Yes this :bawling:

Although I do have one very very memorable 'gift'. When my mum died it was October and she was giving money for Christmas that year. Well that was the plan anyway.

She had a small amount of money in her bank account which I had control of with being the executor of her will.

I bought myself a silver ring with I love you on it. It wasn't expensive but I love it and will never part with it. I look at every day.

Ummmm possibly the time Ninastar organised the COL lot to chip in for a record player for me and a copy of David Bowie's "Hunky Dory" on vinyl (it was a fortnight or so after he died, and my birthday, so... lucky timing for them I guess )

One of my bridesmaids surprised me with a wedding bouquet charm that had a photo of my mum on one side and a lovely poem on the other as she knew I was a bit upset that my mum wouldnt be with me on my wedding day, it caught me off guard when I opened it and i cried for hours.

Also another one was a marble photo board with lots of photos/memories from the past 20 odd years and I know for a fact the person that gifted it to us must have spent a long time getting a hold of all the photos

A 3 month ban before my exams a few years ago, it helped me have no distractions to ace my uni exams and then get the job I was after :clap1:

...you want to give the gift..?...something personalised, like a photo book of a life or specific events...?...

Niamh. 12-10-2020 04:11 PM

Who are you looking for a present for Smithy?

2 that spring to mind for me are, Gav got me a jigsaw with 3 of our dogs (they'd all passed on at that point) as the picture and my daughter got a mouse mat made up for me for Christmas with pictures of the family on it

Yeah I’m just thinking ahead really, no plans for who I’m buying it for (or at least not plans I’d post about on here :ninja2:)

...yeah, I would go personalised in some way, if you think that’s appropriate for who you’re giving to...I did a movie night in snuggle blanket last year for my son with a collage of his two cats on...and some personal text etc...so many personalised gifts that you can get online and the costs are quite reasonable as well...

Ammi 12-10-2020 04:21 PM

...or you could bake/cook something lovely for the person, either...

Ammi 12-10-2020 04:22 PM

...a personalised charm...?...

....hmmmmmmm....I’m sure that you’ll find the perfect gift, Smithy...(...thinking ahead, no plans etc...).....

It's difficult for anyone to give you an idea of what a thoughtful gift would be because if it's thoughtful because we would have to know the person and what they appreciate in life
