Spend less time whinging about nothing and more time making good music. No-one cares about your skin colour.

Except they really do, especially in country music, which is a very white and straight industry, look at the hate Lil Nas X got, is it really a coincidence that he is black and gay, after producing the biggest ‘country’ track in decades?

Old Town Road was country rap, and put such a big spotlight on country music, but was getting tonnes and tonnes of abuse from country fans, not ‘I don’t like your song’ but full on racist and homophobic abuse, it’s an industry mainly based in Texas, which is a massively homophobic place, with homophobic laws still in place, so it’s not a surprise that women of colour are feeling like this.

Women of colour are being discriminated against by most industries, I don't find this surprising.

I'll wait and see how an unadulterated country song does by a black artist before leaping to conclusions , rather than one mixed with rap.

You do you, I’ll be here hoping that black artists, and women of colour are no longer treated differently based off the colour of their skin, in an increasingly racist and sexist world :)

also nice how first two combine country & gospel music, something what really does fit beautifully

that Charley song i posted here, from 2017, him at the age of 83 moment of filming music video and recording the song
