A question for the speccy foureyeses
My glasses are here and since I'm a nerd/OAP like you lot now, I have a question.
So. Being able to see properly is amazing it turns out - apparently I didn't actually know what 4k looked like :umm2:... but yeah... anyway yes, clear vision is great BUT... ...The frames in my field of view annoy the **** out of me. I like the style of glasses and they suit me but I find it really distracting and irritating. Wut do I duuh. Will I just get used to it? Are bigger glasses with larger lenses better? Should I have a pair of ridiculous massive glasses for home use and just use the smaller more stylish ones for when people will actually be looking at me? Are frameless glasses better or is the edge still obvious in the periphery? :bawling: I don't mind the legs/frame at the side so much but I find the frame at the top and bottom really bothersome. |
You'll get used to it TS. When I got frames with tgucker arms they used to drive me mad, particularly when I was driving, I thought there was always something in my blind spot. After a few days though I got used to it and now don't see them at all.

...are they quite a dark/wide frame, then...?...you will get used to wearing them and it’ll be less noticeable but it might always be noticeable to you because of the frame style.../...have you considered contacts as well as glasses..?...

...get used to spectacle wearing first and then maybe chat to your optician about contacts...

You can get a test (2 weeks) of daily disposibles to see if you get on with them, otherwise get used to the frames |
So my massive comedy glasses plan isn't going to work?
|
get yourself a pair of Deirdre Barlows, it's the only solution
|
TS: "Honey, have you see my copy of Computer Shopper as i need to go for a ceramic cruise?"
Mrs TS: "yes my darling its over there in the corner by your Lord of the Rings models" TS: "i cant see at the edges of the room" :bawling: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/b1/58...74a9681550.jpg |

You will soon get used to it ( very soon in fact ) that said I’m a great believer in rimless glasses or at least nothing in the bottom half

I also don't have any Lord of the Rings models. ... ... ... however I do have some Fallout bobbleheads so I'm not going to take the high ground there. https://eumerch.bethesda.net/media/i...RISMA_0007.png |
My eyes have started going too, I think. Always had near perfect vision, but I've started having to hold things a bit further away from my face to avoid blurry vision. :fist:

I can see great I look great I am great.
But I do have water works trouble at the moment |
I am next level up on this journey as my readers i use on the sofa are on a chain as i have to switch up from TV glasses to readers like when adverts come on and i grab my phone. so i have one pair on my head and one on and a chain hanging down like a granny .
On the odd occassion i have fallen asleep and both pairs fall on top of each other it really is quite the look :umm2: |
You will need perscription sun glasses now TS unless you get contacts for the two days of Scottish sunshine
