NHS worker punched & thrown from Tube train/confronted passengers for no masks...

An NHS worker has had his eye socket broken in three places after being thrown from a London Underground train when he confronted three passengers for not wearing masks.

The health service employee was also punched repeatedly during the attack, which occurred after he pointed out that it was a breach of coronavirus restrictions for the trio – two men and a woman – not to be in face coverings.

One of the group struck the victim several times before throwing him off the train and onto the platform at High Street Kensington station.

He also suffered a chipped jaw.

The three stayed on board as the train departed.

The incident – which occurred at 10pm on Saturday 3 October – only came to light on Tuesday night after British Transport Police released pictures of a man they say they want to speak to in connection with the attack.

He is white with short blond hair and wearing a suit. He was described as carrying an umbrella.

Figures released on Monday show almost 500 people have been fined in London for not wearing face coverings on public transport.

Enforcement officers had also stopped about 113,000 people from getting on public transport services until they put on a face mask, while 1,800 were removed from services.

This is Terrible
Leave this to the Transport Police.

Poor guy, understandable that he is so frustrated by non mask compliance, I hope the guy is caught and put in prison

Incidents like this are likely to increase to be honest.

Anti-mask thugs being radicalised by the right wing conspiracy theorist, ‘freedom fighters’ were bound to turn violent at some stage, poor man, I hope he gets justice

I didn’t mention either of their political leanings did I? I said people refusing to wear masks probably do so because of all the disinformation and propaganda being thrown out there by the right wing conspiracy theorists, which, imo, is the only place anti-mask, anti-lockdown rhetoric is coming from.

I hope he recovers and gets the justice he deserves.

i'm not thinking like that of any anti-lockdown, anti-masker people, but just them being more dumb if you oppose those things what are important for your health in a dangerous pandemic (and no LT i am not fearmongering, i am just not underestimating this virus)

it's a matter of perspective and common decency. If anyone passes comment you can make your disagreement clear by discussion, you don't do someone grievous bodily harm to make your point. It's really got nothing to do with masks ...

Elliot 28-10-2020 01:03 PM

There’s no discussion to be had. Stop being selfish pricks and wear ****ing masks

I must be, as I don't think locking down is the answer, it was in March, but not now..

still wearing my mask and if I see someone not wearing one, i wouldn't confront them as they have their own choice

when I do pipe up is when someone gets too close to me, like the man last week in Marks, I was putting my card in my purse, and he moved forward and stood beside me at the payment till, so I asked him to step back until I was finished, and he accused me of being rude :skull:

I just walked off some of these people just want an argument :fist:

No, those figures are for when both people are wearing masks, unless you're talking about properly fitted medical grade masks which no one should be wearing outside of a healthcare environment.

Is coronavirus causing desensitisation to random acts of violence now too?

:umm2: no, i see that on the boxes of the masks we got, protection up to 96%

still wearing a mask protects you more than no mask (i know you still need to be careful of course, but with a mask you are more protected for example in stores within crowded areas of that)
