2021 realistic wishlists

some who i would like to see at some point are

Nick Knowles - i mean he's very known into BBC, with DIY SOS show and i think he would make a nice household name signing too

Dan Walker - i mean pls sign him already, he would also be a nice partner for Nadiya i guess

Bonnie Tyler - i mean they also managed to book Lulu and she is not that high profile anymore either but still a nice name to have on your line up

Tomasz Schafernaker - been a long time since we had our last weather presenter tbh

Adrian Dunbar - i mean he was kinda close to being on line up according to the sun last year, and i think he would make a nice signing either

Dawn French - has been asked multiple times by BBC but never has courage to say yes, hope Bill Bailey being on this years line up can convince her to do the show next year :fc:

someone from S Club, maybe?

Ferne McCann apparently has some Strictly dreams :)

BraeBrae 01-11-2020 03:07 AM

Half of this years IAC lineup I had on a realist wishlist (Derbyshire, Plummer, Watson, Arnold & Callard), so let’s see how well this goes

Anita Dobson – Actress

Ben Cajee – CBeebies host who recently went viral and anti-racism speech. Classic internal “who” BBC signing.

Ben Mudge – Fitness influencer & annual disabled signing.

Claire Grogan – Lead singer of 80s band Altered Images & lead in rom com "Gregory’s Girl".

Courtney Act – Drag Queen. Already comforted in Aus so don’t if they go for her again but she’s arguably the most famous UK-based Drag Race star. (Can see any of the DRUK top 5 signing up though, especially Divina & Baga who are now BBC regulars).

Dr. Alex George – Ex LI contestant & TV Doctor. He was on CelebMasterchef a few seasons ago (usually a good test case for potential signings), would be the most “respectable” LI star and if a covid vaccine is out by next year it be a great look for the Beep to have an actual front line worker.

Gus Kenworthy – The semi-regular American signing, Olympic skier and actor (AHS: 1984). He’s now switched teams and competes for (and live in) England (British mother)

Helen and Kate Richardson-Walsh – Hockey players, has the gimmick of a married couple competing against each other.

Joey Essex – Arguably the most iconic / recognise ex-Towie alum, competed on MasterChef so wondering that was an early vetting test from Beep.
Judy Finnigan of Richard & Judy

Meera Syal – Legendary comedian. Think Caroline & Bill competing this year will cause a lot more legends/national treasures who wouldn’t otherwise compete to take part.

Maggie Orrelenshaw – "Open All Hours” actress

Michael Gunning – Competitive swimmer. Only know him from The Bi Life but seems like a fun signing.

Nikki Anderson – Hollyoaks actress, the semi-regular “non-EE” soap star

Sarah Jane Crawford - DJ & TV host

Rev. Kate Bottley – “out-the-box” variety signing, is already employed by the BBC (Radio 4) and is huge fan. Causal viewers would recognise her from Gogglebox.

Tes Ilyas – Comedian signing

Tomasz Schafernaker – Been a while since there’s been a weather host

Tommy Fury – They get a LI contestant on eventually and think Tommy’s the safest since they can intro him as a “boxer” / “athlete” instead of “reality star” / “influencer” (especially now this Ovie’s said he’s done with reality TV).

Nicky91 01-11-2020 01:45 PM

yes BraeBrae, i agree the Caroline, Bill signings might make more legends wanting to sign up whom otherwise wouldn't

if they get a LI contestant they can always label them for another celeb slot

i mean Tommy can be the athlete or influencer

or Ovie can be the basketball star

and Dr Alex, well a tv doctor as we already had Dr Ranj before

Anita Dobson already did the show haha, she was partnered with Robin Windsor, and one week with Brendan Cole when Robin was injured for a bit

Maxxie. 01-11-2020 03:11 PM

Wes and Amber Davies would probably qualify as 'actual celebrities' now too for their work in Music and Theatre. Although Wes has done DOI I nearly forgot about that.

I think Dr. Alex would be best for Strictly imo, him and maybe Amber Davies or Dani Dyer are the only ones I could see potentially being asked to do it. Well I could slightly see Molly-Mae, Tommy and Ovie (as a basketball player) maybe asked as well. If Greg O'Shea makes it into the olympics I'd count him as a likely candidate too.

And I'm surprised Curtis hasn't been lined up as one of the pro dancers.

Anita did the show in 2011, but should do it every season tbh, she was a bloody joy, so enthusiastic and just happy to be there

shame Robin is no longer at strictly, he was such good fun with his inventive choreo's and also getting the best out of celebs who you'd normally expect not to do well (Lisa Riley for example)

Nicky91 04-11-2020 04:55 PM

i'd say Trump might be available for next year if he's no longer the president

Nicky91 05-11-2020 04:15 PM

Christopher Dean - it would be a sensational signing for sure, and we are due a huge RINGER VILLAIN, since we are getting such likeable line ups recent years

Dean doing a week 2 Argentine Tango :hehe: just because he can with all his performing experience, showman experience

Christopher & Johannes, first male same-sex pairing next year pls :fc:

Nicky91 11-11-2020 10:48 AM

if Strictly were to sign up former DOI contestants, judges, who would you want?

i feel like

Jason Gardiner would make great entertainment, as well as a very showman dance wise

and like i mentioned Christopher Dean in my earlier post, he would make a very good signing for the ''male ringer'' box, also would make a nice first ringer for Nadiya for example

i can totally see David Seaman, Joe Pasquale, Denise Welch, Lisa Scott-Lee, Ray Quinn being fab signings for Strictly out of DOI contestants

BraeBrae 20-11-2020 06:27 PM

Blu Hydrangea and Vinegar Strokes are hosting a YouTube review series “Strictly Frocked Up” for BBC Three. Between this, Baga Chipz being on every other BBC show and Divina de Campo already being on All Together Now, it’s only a matter of time before a Drag Race alum is on the show.

Nicky91 14-12-2020 07:25 AM

would love if the 2021 line up was something like this

males

Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) - DJ, Musician, Record Producer (paired with Nancy Xu)

Rob Brydon - Stand-Up Comedian (paired with Nadiya Bychkova)

Dr Chris van Tulleken - TV Doctor (paired with Dianne Buswell)

Snoop Dogg - Rapper/R&B musician, producer (paired with Amy Dowden)

Jack Laugher - Olympic Diver (paired with Katya Jones)

Mako Vunipola - professional rugby union player (paired with Oti Mabuse)

Nonso Anozie - Actor of Film and TV (paired with Karen Hauer)

females

AJ Odudu - TV Presenter (paired with Graziano Di Prima)

Victoria Derbyshire - Award winning Journalist (paired with Giovanni Pernice)

Jessica Ennis-Hill - Former Olympic Track and Field athlete (paired with Gorka Marquez)

Sam Quek - Former Olympic Field Hockey player (paired with Aljaz Skorjanec)

Bonnie Tyler - Singer (paired with Johannes Radebe)

Trinny Woodall - Entrepeneur, Fashion/Make Over Expert (Trinny & Susannah) (paired with Neil Jones)

Gemma Bissix - Soap Actress (paired with Kai Widdrington)

Amelia Lily - Reality TV Personality, Singer (paired with Pasquale La Rocca)

Nicky91 14-12-2020 07:26 AM

and yes i believe next year is the year they will sign someone who had done DOI (but pre-revival one, and someone who got links to BBC too)

I’m guessing it could be one of these, can’t really think of any more pre-revival that the Beep would willingly sign.

Sharron Davies
Natalie Pinkham
Tanya Ramsey (or her daughter Matilda)
Angela Rippon

yes either one of those, or a bigger sensation would be if they could sign DOI legend Christopher Dean, i mean he thinks of strictly as a great show tbh, which is what he said what he wants to turn DOI into

John Bercow on Strictly wishlist for next series

Nicky91 25-03-2021 01:23 PM

ok ummm based upon what sort of signings lets dance went for this year

a formula one signing: well for BBC this could be one of David Coulthard, Damon Hill or if someone younger Paul Di Resta

news icon: i mean they really should reconsider asking Huw Edwards (since i would love a legend journalist on strictly too)

girlband signing: maybe Vanessa White (since she did do the jungle show also few years ago)

sports stars: i'd say some olympians, maybe James Dasaolu, hmm Nick Skelton i mean he is a well known star and i'd say he fits in right well with the whole strictly atmosphere too how classy he is himself too, and try asking Dina Asher-Smith, loved seeing a bit of her in phone number details announcement

young tv talent: Maya Jama definitely

variety/diverse slots: maybe a socialite a la Petra Ecclestone, and maybe a DJ like Paul Oakenfold

BBC internal signings: Jay Blades he is so nice on repair shop and that also got decent viewer ratings i think, another eastenders signing (Shona McGarty maybe she comes across better than Maisie did)

comedian/entertainer signing: Jim Davidson (just for the lolz, him and his dad dance ''moves'' could be hilarious and it could make him shine for the more positive for once too)

music star: someone under the radar atm but still known enough, Jamie Cullum comes to mind, but Louisa Johnson too

Strictly Jake 23-06-2021 02:21 PM

Lorraine Kelly and Anton Du Beke
Nadia Hussain and Neil Jones
Helen Skelton and Alijaz Skorjanec
Paloma Faith and Giovanni Pernice
Lucy Fallon and Johannes Radebe
Maya Jama and Graziano Di Prima
Rochelle Hulmes and Gorka Marquez

Jermaine Jenas and Oti Mabuse
Micheal Owen and Amy Dowden
Dan Walker and Katya Jones
Olly Murs and Karen Hauer
Roman Kemp and Dianne Buswell
Iain Stirling and Nadiya Bychkova
Will Mellor and Luba Mushtuk
Olly Alexander and Nancy Xu

Nicky91 25-06-2021 01:37 PM

Iain Glen is someone who i would like if BBC just asks to do this show (age wise, 60 same age as Caroline last year)

he is well known at both older and younger target audiences, unrealistic i don't know since last year we got two surprise names in Bill Bailey, Caroline Quentin so, and this year being a normal full series again + still not much other work going on due to the pandemic

Iain would make a interesting one for Nadiya i think, height wise (Iain is 6.1, Nadiya 5.8) also a exact good match

feel like he also wouldn't be a ''ego'' ala Danny John-Jules, but i always find him coming across very charismatic, likeable, do think he could appeal to the GBP quite nicely

Nicky91 11-07-2021 08:14 AM

i can really see the line up being something like

females

Louise Minchin - BBC journalist, especially now her ban has been lifted

Shona McGarty - EastEnders Actress

Rev Kate Bottley - Journalist, tv presenter

Sam Quek - Olympic medalist Hockey player (yes maybe too soon after she gave birth back in March but she got quite a few new jobs currently, at BBC so maybe she would be on this years line up to give herself more a popularity boost)

Nadiya Hussain - TV Chef, GBBO winner (might make sense since she got a good Netflix deal now too, to promote her content on that through here)

Mimi Webb - singer-songwriter, recent new rising star (in light of HRVY success maybe another rising popstar to push for a wider audience )

Kelly Macdonald - Actress (in light of Line of Duty popularity and most others are unrealistic probably)
--------------------------------------
males

Michael Owen - former international footballer, Lions Legend (in light of England's success story at euro2020/21)

Jordan North - BBC Radio 1 DJ (in light of his popularity on IAC last year)

Tony Blair - former prime minister (do think BBC would want another politician signing but just a not as obscure one as Jacqui Smith was last year)

Owain Wyn Evans - BBC weather presenter (the one for the first male same-sex pair)

Jermaine Jenas - former footballer, pundit and now the new One Show presenter

Dr Emeka Okorocha - NHS medical doctor, Nigerian Prince (third in line to the throne in his family's province)

Marcus Brigstocke - Comedian, Actor, Satirist

David Hasselhoff - Actor, Singer, TV Judge, TV Personality (yes he had done DWTS US before ok, but Pamela Anderson had done different versions too ;) and somehow think David might do loads better here than in the US same as how his music comes across better in Europe than US too)
