Currys PC World asked to honour cancelled Black Friday sales

[Currys PC World is facing a growing number
of complaints about cancelled Black Friday purchases,
which customers only learned about after
the sales period was over.
The firm has blamed a technical fault for
causing some orders to fail even though
it had sent confirmation emails.

The electronics retailer has apologised
for "the inconvenience caused".

"I had ordered a 65in TV in the
Black Friday sale," Iain Fairfield
from Kilwinning told the BBC.

"But it never arrived,
so I went onto live chat with Currys and they
said that due to a technical glitch the
order hadn't gone through properly,
even though I had confirmation of it.

"They then informed me that I would
have to pay full price for the TV again
even though it was a Black Friday deal.]

Shocking,

technical glitches do happen, and if the number of sales exceeded their amount of deals available they are perfectly entitled to cancel sales that exceed the number available. The customer has not paid anything, so has not lost anything, no matter how they would like to paint it

Literally had an order from JD sports cancelled 3 times, they take the cash and then they refund, if the product is not available they can't send it out, I do think that their systems should be more in tune with stock levels though as it is quite annoying that when your order it says 'in stock' and remains that way for a few days after the order and then the refund email arrives :fist:

Tbf they should honour the deal when the item is back in stock rather than cancelling the order altogether.
