Taylor Swift - evermore (Ninth Studio Album) Out Now

Jarrod 10-12-2020 12:42 PM

Folklore is absolutely spectacular so I'm really excited for this, especially as it's a continuation/sister album.

Nicky91 10-12-2020 01:04 PM

the title is Evermore

Shaun 10-12-2020 01:05 PM

excited for another "ok/good" record to be overrated beyond oblivion!

LeatherTrumpet 10-12-2020 01:06 PM

she cant still be a thing, she must be approaching 40?

Tom4784 10-12-2020 01:07 PM

Folklore was a grower so I'm intrigued although I'm guessing since it's only been a few months since her last album, this one will probably consist of castoffs and unused songs from that album.

She said on her Instagram that she just couldn’t stop writing songs for this aesthetic/universe so I imagine it’s been created since the folklore release?

Seems really unnecessary

I'm excited for this upcoming album. Besides, if you listen closely to the instrumentals to all the songs on Folklore, it's like Taylor returned (somewhat) to her music roots.

Smithy 11-12-2020 08:00 AM

On first listen I prefer folklore, but this’ll probably grow on me as that did.

No body no crime is the standout for me

I agree with you - I'm seeing this album almost as a "b side" to Folklore, as it feels like they should have come together.

Smithy 11-12-2020 09:03 AM

I think what Dezzy said is the most probable thing for this album, she wrote a **** tonne of songs, put together folklore and then thought, I like most of these songs let’s just throw them out on a second album

This is probably my least favourite because it feels like a knock off or Carrie Underwood - two black cadillacs

Tom4784 11-12-2020 04:28 PM

I'm listening to it now, just got a few songs left and it's really quite boring so far. The songs with Haim and The National have been my favourites so far and there's some that could be growers but it's very underwhelming. It's very same-y.

Brother Leon 11-12-2020 04:54 PM

Definitely feels like the songs that couldn’t make the cut for Folklore tbh. Can’t knock her hustle though, 2 albums in a year is 2 albums.

I thought this. Very very underwhelmed by this album, it doesn’t have the spark that folklore did and the only ones I’m voting with are Willow and Long Story Short.

I think if they dropped as a double release then it would have been a little better, but coming a fair amount of time after folklore it’s just not living up to it for me. Unfortunately I found it a chore to get through.

One of the songs - Happiness I believe - was written last week lmao. Messy.

Tom4784 12-12-2020 01:20 PM

I'd be surprised if any of this album, bar perhaps the features, was actually written after Folklore's release, it's very similar to it. There's a lot of songs on here that feel like they were cut from Folklore.

I don't fault her for doing so, but it would be better if the cut songs were more distinct and memorable. I feel like, if I'm right, most of this album was cut content for a good reason.

Shaun 12-12-2020 06:04 PM

...OK I'm actually liking this one a lot more than Folklore.

'Happiness', 'Champagne Problems', 'Dorothea', 'Tolerate It' are all great. I enjoy the collaborations but I think the HAIM one could've done with something extra; as it is it's just an entertaining lyric.
