I can understand the Anger
as a comedy show
get politics out of it.

[Vicar of Dibley viewers slam 'lecturing' BBC for using
comedy to promote 'political' causes after Dawn French took
the knee for Black Lives Matter
Viewers criticised series for using a comedy show to promote a 'Woke' agenda
One tweeted: 'I'm sick and tired of being lectured every time I turn on the TV'
Sparked impartiality concerns over political aims of those behind BLM campaign]

Vicar of Dibley is doing a Christmas special this year?

Kizzy 15-12-2020 12:32 PM

She is playing a vicar.... their job as Christians is to champion peace and harmony isn't it? Especially at Christmas.

Won't be the same without, Alice.

perhaps when you start viewing The Vicar of Dibley as a bastion of extremist far-left values, it's a sign that you've shifted a little too far to the right

I think it's more a pop at the BBC than the The Vicar of Dibley, itself. There arne't many shows left that don't have some form of divisive, identity politics pushed in them. Oh yeah, they usually want you to donate generously to their causes.

Mitchell 15-12-2020 12:59 PM

It was very well done and I really can’t see the problem with it.

Tom4784 15-12-2020 12:59 PM

Imagine being this angry at the thought of racial equality.

Yeah, ITV are grifters too. Get upset and give your money to their causes.

Samm 15-12-2020 01:15 PM

Says more about the right-ring classing racial equality as not their values

I don't see the problem either , it seems people just like to moan . But I haven't watched it yet .

bots 15-12-2020 02:10 PM

i'm not a fan of any type of politics invading entertainment shows. I wouldn't have watched this one anyway as I never liked it, so it's no big deal to me

Glenn. 15-12-2020 02:40 PM

Oh it’s a Daily Mail article. I imagine the comments resemble some kind of gammon stew.

Oliver_W 15-12-2020 03:11 PM

It's not really worthy of anger, just more of the boring same song we've been hearing lately.

Racial equality is about treating all races equally (funnily enough), not kneeling on the ground and bleating on about it.

...I read that it’s only a 90 second bit so not really ‘invading’, I wouldn’t say...just a tiny fraction of viewing time...and (...I thought from my recollection...)...that Geraldine’s politics always played a part of her character....she stood in some election once, I think...so I think that it seems quite in proportion to have that small acknowledgement to her politics put in here...plus obviously reflecting equality that her role as Vicar would feel strongly about...(..I think Kizzy said that...)...

not exactly, i mean it depends on if you want to be topical or not

Crimson Dynamo 15-12-2020 03:46 PM

I would hope an English vicar would concern themselves with parish business and all the need in the UK before she got involved with USA political stuff that does not concern them
