London the Ghost Town

The media are making a big deal about how deserted london is today and how everyone is following the tier 4 rules.

Actual propaganda!

I've been swanning around london all day, South Ken, Kensington High Street, Waterloo and Kings Cross.

A lot of the tubes i took I couldnt even get a seat.

Honestly Kensington High Street was like any other Sunday. Hyde Park was full of people.

Why is the news lying to us?

Oh and don't merge this with the Coronavirus thread as this is not about coronavirus this is about the Media/Government propaganda, i am actually shocked.

During the November lockdown a lot of stores with an online presence were offering click and collect, and many people take advantage to walk around London without the tourists

Gstar 20-12-2020 11:36 PM

It did seem quite busy today, hopefully it’s not everyone panic buying

It’s the same on local roads and streets, as soon as it’s a lockdown every twat in the country feels the need to be out.

I’m sure even hermits come out in a lockdown.

What's click and collect to do with the thread topic?

It's OK to break lock down as.long as you're not a tourist :/

click and collect means that pedestrian traffic continues to non essential outlets who offer that service, so its very applicable in the run up to Christmas in the midst of a lock down

You are allowed out for exercise Kizzy and there are many people who live in London so they can for exercise, my point is as its not busy with tourists its perfectly safe to walk around and socially distance

Many restaurants and shops offer takeaway and click and collect, no different if you pick it up yourself to having a driver pick it up...its all within the rules :D:

I was highlighting the fact you missed the point of the thread. ..it wasn't the fact anyone was out, it was that they were out but the media were showing deserted streets.

It seems misleading at best.

Im staying local.
Doing my shopping in Wembley central, where most of my favourite shops are open.
Poundshop is a lifesaver, because they also have some clothes and shoes

Beso 21-12-2020 08:21 PM

Urgh...

Stay away from brent cross and its nazi parking attendants.

I want to go to Hyde park where the weather allows it.
I love the place, it's so relaxing to walk there.

I was there a few months ago..probably 2 and a half..

Got a ****ing parking whilst parked at the rear in an empty disabled space so I could fix a 75 inch tv on john lewis shop floor during covid working hours...

They must have been watching me huff n puff a giant screen out my van and walk it half a mile back down to john Lewis..

I tried the tradesman entrance bell but fot no answer..

The nazis watching certainly done me up the tradesmans with the 65 quid ticket...

I refused to ever go back...so they can suffer in the end...

UserSince2005 21-12-2020 09:33 PM

I had a meeting in some retail estate around the corner from Brent Cross once. I thought I was about to get mugged

I didn’t miss the point at all, just offered up reasons why the press would be wrong

See they have moved to Brent now, I expect you will be fuming at this departure from the original topic :hehe:

Sorry but your comment had no baring on the point the op made.

It still doesn't.

If locals are out where are the pics of the locals?... why are the pics of empty streets, when clearly yourself and the op know the streets are far from empty.
