Taskmaster

Hi
Is anyone a fan of Taskmaster? I haven't been on this site for a while so sorry if there is already a thread on this but it has been my obsession since BB finished...
I just wanted to know what everyones favourite series / episodes are and what the thoughts are on the new lockdown series on C4?

Shaun 22-12-2020 01:34 AM

Love it, something of a latecomer to it though so have only watched the past 3 series in full. I've still got 2 episodes of this series left though, but I love all 5 of them (especially Mawaan and Daisy)

Ammi 22-12-2020 04:14 AM

...Bollo......wow, a gorgeous blast from the past...Christmas miracles do indeed happen...(...I hope life is good and beautiful for you.....)...

..I haven’t watched it...I hadn’t realised that there was undiscovered TV that I hadn’t watched this year, the strangest of things....but I will see if I can get it on catch-up...and as it’s a recommended watch from Shaun as well...I’m confident it’ll be a good watch...

I love Taskmaster....watched it since it started and it hasn't lost any of its appeal for me.

I watched Series 10 live and I’m currently binging my way through the rest, amazing!!

Oh I love series 7 the one with James Acaster, Kerry Godliman, Jessica Knapett, Phil Wang & Rhod Gilbert...my favourite episode is 10 where they have to recreate a computer game ...it's genius! This series is good and I'm looking forward to the new years eve special...

But i would recommed checking out series 2 next, especially episode 2 where they have to recreate a nursery rhyme...doc brown & Jon richardsons are hilarious

it's the show that introduced me to Mawaan Rizwan, Rose Matafeo, Jessica Knappett and Lolly Adefope, so I'm eternally grateful

Exactly! This show introduced me to so many comedians I didn't know! It's where i discovered Romesh Ranganathan, Roisin Connerty, Kerry Godliman,Joe Lycett Etc. Rose Mataefeo was genius when she did the taskmaster theme tune and Jessica Knappett is the best at air horn impressions

I legit thought Mawaan was Nabhaan for ages until I looked him up and found out it was his brother so turns on im a fan of both and is also interesting how open about his secuality in a community that isn't accepting about it which is refreshing

Hey Ammi, you lovely lady....hope all is well with you and you had a great christmas ....

It's definitely worth a watch... i recommend starting from series one which has Romesh Rangnathan , Frank Skinner, Josh Widdicombe, Roisin connerty & Tim Key and is brilliant! XX

started the most recent season for Katherine a few weeks ago and ended up loving it (Kath, Daisy & Mawaan ) and also binged through S7 :dazzler:

you never watched Drifters??

Shaun 29-12-2020 08:14 PM

didn't even notice they'd announced the cast for Series 11

Braden 29-12-2020 08:23 PM

I was pretty disappointed with the upcoming cast when I found out :(

Probably because I enjoyed the most recent cast so much. I still think about Daisy just naming swear words during one of the final tasks, lmao.

I didn’t know many of the s10 cast when it was announced, just because I don’t really pay attention to much comedy these days (I knew Mawaan and Johnny, Daisy vaguely) but loved them instantly so I’m hoping I get that same connection in s11 as the only one I know is Lee.

I agree, quite often when I have seen a line up i either haven't heard of the comedians or don't like one of the comedians on the show, but i've always ended up enjoying the show regardless.

The new year treat will be interesting though as there is not one comedian in it...

Yeah, I’ve seen that advertised. Nicola is the only one I’d see competing on a regular season of the show, and I wouldn’t be surprised to have seen Rylan on a regular edition a few series down the line when they’re really struggling for comedians because he can be quite funny it’s just not what he’s known for.

Still shocked the likes of Tom Allen and Joel Dommett haven’t put themselves up for it.

Just because people haven’t appeared on it yet, doesn’t mean they don’t want to

Neither of these points make any sense

Reread them. Have a think about it.

Ive read them and still don’t make any sense.

Of course they’ll start running out of comedians - the show requires 10 per year and they’ve already gone from having 10 household names to having 3/4 and the rest made up of up and coming/on the rise talent. Not an issue at all but if you think of the ‘big’ names left its only really Tom and Joel who are realistic signings, perhaps Jennifer Saunders if the money was right.

And this ... I don’t get the point being made here. I never said the likes of Tom or Joel didn’t want to go on, I said I was shocked they hadn’t signed up yet - as it’s in its 6th year and they’re always on other comedy panel shows etc.

Shaun 30-12-2020 03:54 PM

I was aware of everyone from s10 except Mawaan... with S11 I'm only aware of Lee Mack and Charlotte Ritchie (from Fresh Meat and Ghosts)

Ammi 31-12-2020 05:27 AM

...I started to watch this yesterday and have randomly started with series 9 and it is huge fun, I can see it’s addictive ness....very ingenious ways to conceal aubergines...

Same here ...although I just realised Mike Wozniak is the moustachiod nerd in Man Down... i thought the new years treat was quite good but there is rumour that they are doing another champion of champions which would include one of my favourites Kerry Godliman! Think that could be good...

Not a rumour, I believe it has been commissioned!

Shaun 23-04-2021 12:43 AM

I've been enjoying this series a lot... Sarah and Mike are perfect fits for this show. A little bit bored now of contestants just not even trying with the prize tasks though...
