Davinas mum sadness

From The Daily Mirror

DAVINA McCall's mother says she has not been allowed to see the Big Brother presenter for seven years.

Florence Kock, who lives in South Africa, has not even spoken to her in 10 months and has never seen her three grandchildren.

She gets £430 every two months from millionaire Davina.

But she said: "The only way I can communicate with her is by fax to her husband."

Davina was raised by grandparents after Florence abandoned her at the age of three.

The Channel 4 host, now wife of Pet Rescue's Matthew Robertson, blamed her heroin and coke addiction on her absent mother.

But Florence, whose fourth husband died recently, pleaded: "I just want her love and respect and for her children to know they have a grandmother."

if she abonded davina at a young age why should she be nice to her and see her when she wants - i think she lost the right to her and her grandkids the day she walked out

zexymonkey 25-06-2007 12:13 PM

Makes you wonder why she would do that hair dye advert and pretend shes talking to her mum on the phone lol

Bull ****. If she wanted to be a mother, she should have done it from the start. :bored:

Amy21 25-06-2007 12:39 PM

That is really horrible to hear :(. How could any mother abandon their child. I bet Davina's mum only wants to get back in touch because she is rich and famous and wants her money well she can go to hell for starters as you dont abandon your own child then suddenly pick up where you left off as soon as she is loaded and famous. And also she doesnt have a right to see Davina kids after what she has done.

no way i never new they did that advert wow ill listen to it next time

To be honest, no-one knows the circumstances Davinas mother left in, so who are we to judge her on that.

Aye... I agree..... being a mother aint part time or when the going gets good...... its with the bad too...... a mothers love is unconditional..... and to give that away is sad and then to expect love back after abandoning her... well... too little too late

natjake2504 25-06-2007 12:44 PM

im a mother i have a 2 year little boy who at the moment is hard work but i would never under any circumstances dump him on my parents he is my and my partners little boy so there for our responabitly no matter how hard he gets - thats my view anyway

I agree natalia2504:thumbs:

If Davina McCall has made that decision, then she will know more about her own family situation, than anyone else.

If a mother/father decides to do this in any situation, then you can lose all respect in return.

Moses455 25-06-2007 01:24 PM

Itza 25-06-2007 02:06 PM

But she talks to her Mum on the phone telling her what new hair dye she's using to cover her greys!

zexymonkey 25-06-2007 02:59 PM

hehe its only pretend Itza but it makes u think why would she agree to pretend to talk to her mum on the phone if she hates her 4 real. I mean in the hair advert she is being herself issnt she?

natjake2504 25-06-2007 03:51 PM

My mum and I fell out when I was 16 - and started to build a relationship last year (I am 34 now) and slowily getting the pieces back together. It can be hard but I feel that history should be dealt with and move on. I did this to help my daughter find out about her roots and has become more secure because of it.

Obviously I do not know the insides and out in this situation but I hope that bridges can be built and a family can be brought back together again.
Minus the greys!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Life's too short.

DavinaRocks 25-06-2007 04:33 PM

Poor Davina... :bored:

Well you can't blame her for that. Heroine costs a lot nowadays. lol

I think you are 100% right. You can't abandon someone and then just come back to them when they have lots of money.

geoking66 25-06-2007 06:31 PM

Davina admitted that the lack of a mum made her want to do drugs and other risky endeavours.
