I don't know why he can't do something that has longevity and will make more money rather than doing something just for the christmas number 1 which makes good money at first but then doesn't a week later. Surely you should be promoting a charity song more than 1 week?

Because it's self promotion dressed up as charity. He wants the no1s, he doesn't care about the money raised for charity (which would be very little considering streaming).

If he had noble intentions, he would look to other methods of fundrasing.
