Prison for COVID rule breakers?

Should those that hold or organise large gatherings against government rules be sent to prison?

I think they should because they know what they are doing is wrong and are risking the lives of innocent people.

What's "large"? If you're talking illegal raves etc. and parties with hundreds of people, then sure, target the organisers.

If you mean gatherings of like 20 people then frankly, it's happening so much that we don't have the prison capacity for that (by far).

The Slim Reaper 03-01-2021 01:14 PM

Extremely dangerous with this bunch of chancers, that we give them any power to jail folks for congregating in groups, because that power won't be removed as soon as covid is under control.

rusticgal 03-01-2021 01:24 PM

Better still....make them do 100 hours of community service in the hospitals. Let them see what the disease does...expose them to the realities of it.

Josy 03-01-2021 01:27 PM

A fine is enough imo

Kizzy 03-01-2021 01:29 PM

Do you realise how silly that is?...

You want to punish mixing in groups by mixing them in bigger groups in prison?

And that will stop the spread of covid how?

I can't even. .

bitontheslide 03-01-2021 01:30 PM

i think we have to be careful about how far laws are changed that can have long term effects on our personal liberty. A repeat offender may warrant special attention perhaps, but that is as far as i would go

Here's an interesting article on how young people view this...it's really refreshing to see how clear they see what's happening and how wrong much of it is/was.

It’s not silly at all

Let’s not punish people for recklessly endangering people’s lives, these people don’t give two fcuk s about COVID so they shouldn’t have a problem mixing with fellow rule breakers

armand.kay 03-01-2021 04:54 PM

we can deal with rule breakers once priti brings back capital punishment

At the very least they should receive a hefty fine for putting people's lives potentially at risk.

Withano 03-01-2021 07:50 PM

You better start building the first of your couple hundred prisons then

He should deffo go to jail ~ the man is mentally ill ! and a danger public health.

If being a knobhead was illegal he'd have been locked up ages ago.

bitontheslide 03-01-2021 09:14 PM

Nicky suggested that offenders be shot a few months ago. If the government had heeded that advice then, our infection rates would be right down now.

I stand with Nicky

joeysteele 03-01-2021 09:45 PM

Fines should be enough I'd say.

However there is an issue that they are not only endangering themselves but others too.

Not sure prison is much good for anything at present, except to keep violent individuals off the streets.

But right after he said it, he dramatically threw his mask to the floor and declared Covid "just a hoax anyway".

Such is the ballad of Nicky.

Who are you punishing... The prison workers that are inundated with covid riddled inmates?

Give your head a wobble.

Give the prison guards the vaccine

Your above statement is like saying don’t lock up dangerous people because the prison guards might get hurt

If my head needs a wobble then yours needs a holiday.
