Godzilla vs Kong (Out Now)

This feels dumb af, like Kong is just a big monkey whereas Godzilla is a radioactive lizard that literally shoots lasers?

This looks pretty good to me, like you obviously have to suspend belife to enjoy it but it looks fun and really makes me want the cinemas to reopen

Why not a King King and Mighty Joe Young movie ...

Could be enemies or best mates ..

@Smithy, dumb looking monster movies can still be very enjoyable though

i mean i can know i had watched a lot of Syfy b monster movies, like mega shark vs crocosaurus :fan:

this one could be good too, trailer looks good, very nice effects too

I thought King Kong died

Tony Montana 25-01-2021 08:03 PM

Looks amazing! Although I think it will go down the BvS road and both monsters will team up against another monster. In this case, MechaGodzilla, which was shown 3 seconds into the trailer.

I watched this last night, I was confused

Why haven’t Kong and Godzilla fought before if they’ve got a rivalry that’s millennia old? I get that Kong was in that containment facility but before that he was just on Skull Island??

Why did the mecha Godzilla suddenly go schitzo and gain a mind of its own?

How does Millie Bobbie Brown keep booking these gigs when she can’t act?

It's been getting terrible views
So Smithy has a valid point.

i can answer these questions you had now

1)
Spoiler:

Godzilla wanted to live in peace, but he felt the construction of ''mechagodzilla'' by apex happening, which is why he attacked those two apex facility sites, and went chaotic because of it

2)
Spoiler:

because mechagodzilla got taken over by Ghidorah's telepathic spirit whom got brought back to life by that blue stuff from hollow earth, it disconnected Ren (also electrocuted him) so basically that hollow earth stuff is very dangerous, and ghidorah connected with that instantly

but yeah i quite like the movie, understood most of it too

the ''Maia Simmons'' character well how dumb can you be, first of all Kong isn't a monkey it is an ape, secondly
Spoiler:

threatening Jia will of course piss Kong off since that is his friend
thirdly
Spoiler:

ordering to shoot Kong to move it is a bad move since Kong will then turn aggressive towards you, also funny how he looked inside first if Jia wasn't on board before he destroyed the heav

also Eiza Gonzalez actress who played Maia, she apparently signed a deal for more MonsterVerse roles (also she liked the fact ''father-daughter'' here were both played by latino's Demian Bichir,
Spoiler:

he and her never saw each other on set of course
, but
Spoiler:

off set they did speak about their characters, and some advice shared how to make a quite believable father-daughter connection for the movie

i liked Demian Bichir too in Alien Covenant

anyhow back to this one, my score (first watch) is a solid 9.0/10 really cool graphics, decent acting (i've seen worse acting before tbh and this was just more than decently played) good storyline too i thought

wrong?

IMDB score for this is a nice 6.6 out of 10, better score than wonder woman 1984 whom only scored a 5.0

also rotten tomatoes has a more than decent score for this one, and sales have been fairly good as well

and many reaction videos i see from people on youtube, all quite overall positive minded

Not really, it’s fresh on rotten tomatoe and has a fair score on IMDb, plus it was the biggest opener since the COVID virus hit in USA cinemas and has been a record viewing on hbo max

i was going to watch this if it got rave reviews here, but it seems mediocre at best and that saves me 15 nuggets
