Looks like they are moving away from the idea of Privatisation and planning to put the NHS on a level that it was before the last reforms in 2012

Interesting! I'm not used to that shower doing something positive!

Those reforms done by Cameron after he'd promised they'd never happen in the 2010 election.
Was the thing I most distrusted him on, and why I voted Lib Dem for my sins. Because, he did deceive and did the reforms with the votes too of the Lib Dems in the coalition. A very costly set of reforms too which caused problems for years after. So IF, and I won't hold my breath, IF those reforms can now be reformed again I'd in principle welcome that. However, what's the cost now of reforming again the obviously wrong and costly reform done by Cameron and Clegg. So are these new reforms going to again take away funding that could be used for care in the NHS rather than just wasting money on yet more cosmetic reforming again.. I'm sorry, Cameron lost my trust on the NHS, the Con party lost my respect too. On this vital issue this is to me. Sadly, I really don't believe a word Johnson says. I'll temper that though, in that I am starting to think Matt Hancock has had a bit of an eye opener with the NHS, I think I may have been a little unfair towards Matt Hancock actually. Unlike with Hunt. Who once out the Cabinet, suddenly found a critical voice against the government, however he was a disgrace all through the junior Doctors pay issue as Health Secretary.. I'd welcome more investment in the care aspect of the NHS, if it's done genuinely. This will mean in a decade 2 major reforms of the NHS will have been possibly done. 2 unnecessary reforms with the second one it seems only reversing the first reforms. What a calamitous waste of time and money. Although, those reforms done by the Coalition were an utter disaster. Promised by neither party of the coalition government too.. Yet their power misused to do them. I'd like to know in advance the cost however of this new thinking of reversing the 2012 reforms. |

The same guy that plastered £350m per week for the NHS after brexit, across a big red bus.

as i said in the covid thread, we must surely learn from the brexit fiasco not to trust a sound bite.
