Do you tip your Uber/eats drivers?

If you get an Uber or order an Uber Eats/Deliveroo etc do you tip the driver?

I'm not a charity.

Cherie 10-02-2021 07:26 AM

yes if they do a decent job and they are nice, why not

Guuki 10-02-2021 08:29 AM

Only if I have some coins in my wallet. Sometimes it gets awkward when you don't have any coins and they're expecting to be given a tip. ;D

Niamh. 10-02-2021 08:57 AM

Yeah always

smudgie 10-02-2021 12:14 PM

Of course.

Crimson Dynamo 10-02-2021 12:15 PM

i have never had one but if get a Dominoes i give the lad a £1

Vicky. 10-02-2021 12:16 PM

Haha. Normally no, never have thought about it tbh.

However, just spent ****ing ages waiting for a courier to come to the area, as I want a subway and am lazy. So have now started adding on a tip, hoping they are more likely to cover the area

Yes always. Especially in times like these. They’re out delivering food in a pandemic and tip won’t kill me

Vicky. 10-02-2021 12:26 PM

Normal delivery drivers I tend to just round to the nearest 5/10...so no fannying on with change. Ubereats, today is the fourth time I have used them, and the first time I thought t click for tip..its different with card seemingly.

Smithy 10-02-2021 02:33 PM

Omg Vicky how are you using Uber eats 4 times a day

Vicky. 10-02-2021 02:56 PM

always use the app for tips :smug:

I agree though they are our in all weathers delivering food

Calderyon 10-02-2021 04:58 PM

Nope.

Tipping is not a custom here.

Calderyon 10-02-2021 05:03 PM

You cannot pay in cash anyway, due to the situation.

Mitchell 10-02-2021 05:09 PM

I do feel bad when ordering a dominos or on just eat, cos you can’t tip unless with cash, and I don’t carry cash anymore, but when ordering on just eat, I almost always tip, if the others I order from added a tip feature, I’d tip them.

That would involve leaving the house :joker:

Vicky. 10-02-2021 05:59 PM

I specifically do NOT tip if they seem to expect it though. Which may be petty, but its me. Had one order come to something like 21 quid. I would generally have said give me a fiver and keep the rest...because convenience. But, they stood looking and said 'oh, are you waning the change' :bored: So I said yes, and did not tip. A tenner tip on a 20 quid order is ridiculous to expect.

Also just realised a few mins back, ubereats seemingly already takes tips for the drivers. 3 quid odd delivery, plus 3 quid for driver. I added 10% tip..so another 4 quid. 7 quid tip..I need to start driving I think!

Beso 10-02-2021 06:16 PM

Yes, only cause I dont want to touch them more than I need to..so it's a quick, "keep the change" and a slam of the door from me. It's always rounded up as close to the notes I have at hand though, which makes the dog happy.

caprimint 11-02-2021 12:31 AM

I wouldn't tip anyone.

Josy 11-02-2021 01:00 PM

We dont have any those in our area but the few delivery drivers that do we always tip

Smithy 11-02-2021 01:08 PM

I only tip afterwards bc if I do it beforehand and it’s cold I feel like I’ve been mugged off
