the match before she got loads of praise though, how she still plays amazingly well

this is just a case of you can't win them all

Serena is and always will be a icon

Serena was conditioned to be a tennis playing machine from early childhood, it's what she knows and she was an amazing player. Stepping back from tennis was always going to be a wrench for her.

She will always be a legend of the game and someone for girls to look up to

She hasn't retired yet even though I suppose it's her last year competing.
Such a powerful and inspiring tennis player. What she did really puts her out there as one of the best athlete we've ever had, men or women combined.

never liked her so glad her and her sister are on their way out

Alf 18-02-2021 03:22 PM

She wouldn't beat Monica Seles in a grunt off!

Funny how Federer isn't given the same threads and condescension, isn't it?

Who's stopping you?

Shaun 18-02-2021 05:02 PM

It's more a question of who's starting these, and why, but you already know both those answers I imagine...

Roger is more a smart player, he cleverly avoids clay season sometimes, where he knows he can easily win a lot of points on grass and hardcourt, since everyone knows Rafa is much better on clay than he is

right now still find him quite good, with men age doesn't matter as much as in WTA

i mean Dodig and a Rajeev Ram are also getting older and still slaying in doubles as we speak

MTVN 18-02-2021 05:09 PM

Still beat my Simona though :fist:

I bet she usually serves up a couple of aces each set?
