So we have a date.

I'm not too bothered but equally I am craving a reality show fix

Calderyon 21-02-2021 08:13 PM

Would not be surprised if it gets canceled like 8 was.

Mandie 03-03-2021 02:08 PM

If anyone has a live stream when the episodes are on can you please send me the link? Usually I only get to watch on catchup.

Thank you :)

I’m not excited one bit but here we go

Jack_ 03-03-2021 11:19 PM

The house design and overall theme is clever (albeit ugly) but I can’t help but think it would’ve worked better if they’d just...done a redo of last season? Or at least brought some back

I don’t really care that they haven’t, but it deffo would’ve made more sense

Calderyon 03-03-2021 11:33 PM

The name "BB9 The Sequel" would have made much more sense then at least.

Cox: One word, "lit". Think of one that rhymes with that and you'll know which word I came up with.

Cox: The 2 Captain's have "no idea" about any of this. Sure they didn't..and they were also fan "voted" as the 2 Captains just like we were told(and not at all picked and placed in those cushy roles by production)..And who magically won the coin flip and got to pick the likely strongest male? The determination to cement this contrived balance is clear for all to see. Don't be surprised to see it all fall apart again though..as once this novelty bull is dissolved, the usual pattern is likely to take over again. So if they have any interest in maintaining a gender power balance, they best have lots of easy "answer questions" comps and blind bastards at the ready. Or more of those similar to what they kicked off with: weighed up to "physical proportions"(equivalent to having 1 competitor hold out a heavy axe..while the other holds out a feather)

How do you watch it Jack.

Captain.Remy 04-03-2021 08:56 AM

I thought it was fun. It was setting the frame as the "big twist" was introduced.
The cast looks dynamic and diverse and I hope it stays that way and doesn't end up like BB CAN7..but who knows.
The twist is forcing things to happen but it's also a change, so why not accepting it and see where it goes. I'm not mad at it.

Bro are you ever satisfied with anything? :joker:

Mandie 04-03-2021 01:35 PM

I didn't mind the episode but I don't like how there is no veto for the first round. Although with 14 players maybe that means there is a battle back? Or maybe everyone booted ends up coming back and merging as their own team. Then again perhaps they want a shorter season to make the chances greater for them to not get shut down due to Covid.

Pro Sniper 04-03-2021 11:46 PM

Remy, here's how they could satisfy me..

1) Cast strong females. Types who'll gladly collaborate with each other.
2) Remove ALL blind bastard comps.
3) Stop creating pet-freaks and pushing them to final spots.

If we got 1) we could enjoy a nice balanced game with the typical cocky males not so easily able to control through the whip hand. And 2) only exists to enable 3), so if 3) was scrapped then at least the potential would be there for ANY player to go at ANY TIME. Production demand so much control that they smother any form of surprise..which is terribly bad for a show like this.

DouglasS 05-03-2021 12:07 AM

Strong females have been cast like in BBCAN6 with Erica and Kaela, but for some reason production were all over paras one of the worst ever. Production had to remove Erica to allow paras to Continue to cruise by on her holiday.

And then Kaela was too strong that others were bitter and awarded paras the win because she screamed her answers somehow that is regarded as being passionate?

Captain.Remy 05-03-2021 10:16 AM

They really evicted Julie, like damn, she was good! :skull:
Kudos to Latoya and her gang though, it looks like she really was involved. I thought she would be a floater but she seems smart.

She played too hard, too fast. And she should've kept her mouth shut when she heard about Josh paranoiding about boys alliance and Latoya being against her and instead wait and fully go after Josh.

Pro Sniper 05-03-2021 12:30 PM

Yes, DouglasS, for some reason they have their "ideal winner"(Paras, and many others before her) pinned early on..and then they simply shape everything around them. From plotted advancement to privileged edit. It just baffles me how they think this can be better than allowing things to unfold in completely natural like manner. It just doesn't make sense.

With or without production help, the girls have to play their part in actually wanting female alliance, then going all out to make it work. Not only does it seem rare enough to have females in there capable of mixing it with the best of males, but to find 2 or more who are actually willing to have the backs of each other over any male would be pt2 of the challenge. Maybe natural tendencies and dependent needs from females on males is ultimately what dictates power/control leans in direction of males. Even in these days of independent cries and female empowerment..no amount of evolutionary change can bridge the gap between specific differences in hard wired traits.

As far as the overall structure of this season goes, it's yet again looking impossible for any type of power alliance on the female side...witnessed by an early peek into the usual male dominance as the 2 strongest from each team checked in with each other and cockily discussed how they planned to control things. Meanwhile, on the female front, we had "spicy V" swaggering around patting herself on the back because she tasted victory in one heavily biased, female-friendly comp. And the ridiculous Julie talking about "having a story to tell". This sort of self-indulgent rot has no place in this domain.

3 others were seen lazing about in the bathroom..having a great old time and sharing in the joy of being absurdly part of entire group safe from eviction. This prompted "team Captain" Tina to give a nod to the prospect of them all working closely together. In the middle of this fanciful coalition, I must've missed the HUGE joke that had them in hysterics??? All I seen was "spicy" deliberately running out of the shower to show some skin. Perhaps this laughter was brought about by them all acknowledging just what a sham alliance they'd formed. For imagine if this line came over the tannoy: Girls, are you SERIOUSLY going to stick together and do something about targeting all those dominant males?..

https://thumbs.gfycat.com/FemaleFlim...restricted.gif
Look how the reactions line up beautifully..

And as those girls were seen mocking each other and their entire gender with sham alliances, the strongest among their gender was forming an actual alliance with the 2 strongest males. Giving us a clear view after only one day that this season is going to be no different than all the rest. The females are once again going their separate ways and are simply trying to outlast each other.

The next alliance seen forming was "The Dolls", should be named 'RAGdolls' once they've been tossed around at the pleasure of their many superiors. That hopeless trio offer no more of a threat than a bag full of wigs, lipstick and glitter. As evidenced by 30odd% being almost immediately tossed from it. 1 stooge down, 2 to go.

I knooowwww:bawling: I was rooting for her and was thinking while watching the episode "what is she doing, stop talking ffs!!!".

Oliver_W 07-03-2021 08:48 PM

Caught up with both episodes earlier

So far I like Beth, Tera, Victoria, Kiefer, and Latoya. Maybe Rohan, haven't decided yet. Also Josh, mostly because he's hot <3

Not surprised Julie was first, and I was a bit relieved as she was a bit annoying  all that crap about "wearing heels to take out the trash" and "queens don't hang around with commoners" ... yawn. Breydon doesn't seem much better.

What's that mean?

Pro Sniper 08-03-2021 02:51 PM

Blind comps are those that have ZERO transparency about them(individually "timed" etc..) with no eyes for us viewers to see exactly what went down(and more importantly each contestant left in dark) we're all left with nothing but the word of production and whatever bullshyte edit they package together. Such blind bitches are clearly only on hand for sake of Production - in order to guarantee the outcome of their desire..which gives them complete control when it comes to protecting their pets. They obviously don't give a damn that its at the expense of 'unpredictability'

Calderyon 08-03-2021 08:27 PM

Only way to have full transparency regarding comps is to show them all live.

And even then it should be made clear how many questions there will be in a round, lest BB decides to stop once their fave takes the lead.

Pro Sniper 09-03-2021 02:44 PM

WD to the females for at least competing and winning something. Granted, the first HOH comp didn't require any skill above standing like a dummy(the type females have a history of excelling in..) but it's better than nothing. Unfortunately, Austin - much like "spicy V" was more about congratulating herself instead of calming the **** down and using this power position to build a stronger bridge for her crossing. Such a weak ass reign made her "f-2" deal with Beth appear all the more ridiculous.

Usually saved for mid to end season filler, it's already alarming that they're showing "pranks" after only a couple of eps. And that whole steal or share dilemma was just an utter nonsense. Had they left it to group decision of each, it was at least open to some sort of chance that they'd make different choice, but the fact they ridiculously allowed a "negotiator" to visit one another, the boring matchup was without doubt. FARCE.

Beth was seen desperately trying to force a showmance with Tia, looking to become the new Este.

Oliver_W 09-03-2021 02:55 PM

Anyone else think Austin looks like a biological female version of Julie?
