by voice actor Kevin Michael Richardson – seven months
after the show’s producers committed to
no longer have white actors voicing black characters.

On Monday, Fox confirmed the episode
that aired last night in the
United States, Dairy Queen, would be
Shearer’s last as Hibbert.
From Sunday, the doctor will be played
by Richardson instead. Shearer will continue voicing
his other characters, which include Mr Burns, Smithers,

I never found any character in Simpsons offensive, as they're all meant to be comedy stereotypes and tbf the voice actors did their job and it's not easy voicing 10 characters/different voices each over and over again and take after take .

But it's always good to bring in more diversity . It's up to them if they want to change it 30 something years later, but the big question is why is The Simpsons still being milked to death ?? :facepalm: why don't they just end it already :rolleyes:.

Better get a Scottish actor to play Willie and an Italian actor to play Dr Nick ...

He's got loads of other characters to voice so I don't see the big deal really :shrug:

Show your disapproval by switching off. It's the only thing you can do, if you disapprove.

Why would you disapprove though, it's not like the actor was fired, he plays at least 4 other characters? All they did was create an extra job :shrug:

I wouldn't, but some are, so I'm giving them my advice for dealing with it.

South Park got a black member of the writing team to voice Token Black from the start, and he's done it since. So much more PC than the dirty racist Simpsons :hee:.

That seems fair enough doesn't it, he is probably delighted as he was overloaded lol

It's a non-story really but it'll certainly incense the racists.

This is my view as well, it means more longterm jobs on the show for more people, so it seems like a win-win :shrug:

Yeah, when I heard this story yesterday I was a bit on the fence because I thought they'd sacked the guy to replace him but I didn't know he was voicing half the other characters on the show as well :laugh: An extra job in Covid times? like you say win-win really

The Simpsons voice actor's are talented and each of them voice like 10-15 characters each . I remember when they wanted a pay rise for the work they were doing and fair play .

The actress who plays Bart Simpson said when they ask them to re read / re act a line it's never just one time . So yeah alot goes into it .
