2022 World Cup Qualification discussion thread
Wednesday 23th March: Serbia vs Ireland, Belgium vs Wales, Gibraltar vs Norway
Thursday 24th March: England vs San Marino, Italy vs Northern Ireland, Scotland vs Austria https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_F...fication_(UEFA) |

Our group:
France Ukraine Finland Bosnia & Herzegovina Kazakhstan I predict 4th place for us. Between 5-7 pts. seems realistic. France is easily going to be 1st. Ukraine and BIH fight for the 2nd place, but I think Ukraine will edge through in the end. |
There's a lot of pressure on England not humiliating ourselves on Thursday.
With all due respect to San Marino. |
San Marino's all time official record:
Games played-Wins-Draws-Losses-Goals For-Goals Against-Goal difference-Win% 174 1-6-167 24-730 −706 0.57 If England loses to San Marino, they might as well forfeit. |
Turkey - Netherlands
well i can't see us winning that one ok Cald, Finland - Bosnia & Herzegovina well i must say i have been following Bosnian team recent years, and tbh they aren't bad, since they made their debut at 2014 world cup (also worthwhile mentioning they won their group in qualifying stage too) could be a close call this one, since Finland made euro cup for this year whereas Bosnia has been unlucky so many times in play offs for euro cup 3 times in a row Norway have it pretty easy at Gibraltar i think same as Croatia also easy on paper, in balkan clash against Slovenia Portugal i never really can say anything about that team, i mean they heavily rely on Ronaldo which is not very good to rely on one specific player but against Azeri's they should be fine (also fun fact many brazilians turned azeri in that team) |
A draw or a Netherlands win in he Turkey v Netherlands match.
If Finland wants to get to Qatar, they need points from these two matches against Bosnia and Ukraine. At least one of them is almost a must win. Two losses would be bad. France is going to run this group and very possible with a maximum points count of 24. Maybe BIH and/or Ukraine can squeeze a draw out of them, but other than that, no chance. |
its crazy that there are so many parallel competitions going on at the same time

Poor Niamh seeing her team lose to one of the worst national teams in the world

Is that Luxembourg's first win since they beat Turkey to help Mike Bassett's England qualify for the World Cup
