The Talk: Sharon Osbourne leaves US show after racism row
[TV personality Sharon Osbourne has
left US chat show The Talk after a heated on-air debate about racism earlier this month. Osbourne defended broadcaster Piers Morgan over his criticism of a high-profile TV interview given by the Duchess of Sussex. That led to a clash with co-host Sheryl Underwood, who accused Osbourne of giving "validation" to "racist" views. TV network CBS took The Talk off air while it carried out an investigation. In a statement on Friday, CBS said the events of the 10 March episode "were upsetting to everyone involved, including the audience watching at home".] https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-56547718 |

She can find another Gig even with her mate Simon. |
She'll be back on X factor next year.

I'm no fan of her, but that is disgusting and evil.
Fired for giving support to a friend. Cancel culture must be fought. It's time to tell the cancel culture generation to fook off or fight. |
She literally didn’t do anything :skull:
She just challenged other peoples views, isn’t the show called the talk and it’s whole purpose is to have different viewpoints and opinions spoken about. She said nothing racist at all herself |

Her sacking has nothing to do with what she said about Piers Morgan and everything to do with her racist and homophobic comments directed at her colleagues. |
...she seems to have admitted to her words being racist and apologised but what did she say...?..

It would be to your advantage if you stopped embarrassing yourself. |
The idea of 'cancel culture' is not a new thing, it's just back in the 80's and 90's, it was a tool of the right wing and they don't like it now because the focus is on them now, and not the things they opposed.

Sharon Osbourne can say what she wants, but that doesn't mean that she's free from the consequences from others. She won't be thrown in prison for her actions, which is what freedom of speech is. Facing societal judgement and consequence is not an attack on freedom of speech. I'm so tired of people constantly misrepresenting what freedom of speech is to try to shield themselves from response and consequence. You can have an opinion, other people can have their say on your views too, and if you work in the public eye and say something incendiary that can damage your employer, they can sack you for it. Again, for the bleachers, freedom of speech is not freedom from consequence. |

‘Osbourne apologized on Twitter, but the show suspended production starting March 15 as it announced an internal investigation. Things got worse for Osbourne from there. After Robinson Peete accused Osbourne of having a hand in her own dismissal from The Talk, alleging Osbourne had referred to her as "too ghetto," Remini entered the conversation. The actress and activist, during an interview with journalist Yashar Ali, claimed that Osbourne had made racist comments about former colleague (and Chinese American woman) Julie Chen, homophobic remarks about The Talk creator and then-moderator Sara Gilbert and made anti-Italian slurs toward Remini herself.’ |
Justice will be served to Megs v.soon.
