Top Answers Game 9 [Round 10 Results! And the winner is...]

Right then... I promised it'd be here by the end of the week and here we are.

Quote:

Top Answers has been a game on TiBB for a very long time and has been hosted by Z, ukturtle, Niamh and now myself. Its premise is simple: everyone answers the same questions, via a PM to me, with the first thing that comes to their heads. This isn't a trivia game, and it doesn't require correct or "the most qualified" answers at all. If I ask everyone "name something blue" and, by some odd turn of events, 20 of you respond with "egg", then egg is the most popular answer, damnit! At the end of the round, I reveal the full list of answers given by members to each question, along with a points total of who was able to guess the most popular answers.

There will be ten rounds and there are now fifteen questions per round again, so it may take a little time to fill in but none of them require much research... I've tried to make them as lateral as possible without repeating questions from previous editions of the game. Each round will last for three days (an increase on the usual two in the past, for a number of reasons such as to help the Pointless spinoff run smoother, to give everyone more time to submit answers, and because it's only really a casual game rather than something that requires constant, daily attention).

That said... this time, we'll (hopefully, once I contact an admin) be seeing a new award for the overall winner of the game. In the theory that this game is essentially "Family Fortunes" or "Family Feud" (but we're now nine editions in, and it's too late to rename it now :ninja2:) , the award has been taken from its iconic "X" symbol: https://i.imgur.com/OjQAQfl.png

The ten rounds will be themed around music, TV, film, sports, science & nature, history, geography, food & drink, celebrity culture, and "miscellaneous". By that, I mean it's not quite general knowledge, but isn't covered by any of the other categories... sort of an "everyday life" category, if you will.

Round one will be questions about television... and here they are.

REMEMBER: If you wish to take part in this game, you must PM your answers to me. Discussion of the answers in any form in this thread (or indeed elsewhere) is not permitted, and I'll have to penalise you for cheating or attempting to influence others' answers.

Round 1 will be open until Tuesday, 13 April (at roughly the same time as this, probably, but I'll see what my sleeping pattern is like :worry:)

Ammi 10-04-2021 07:26 AM

......gorgeous....

...let me go copy/imitate/fan girl one of your previous Op’s into a new thread and I’m right there with you and following your style...(...I might be PMing you a lot through this...)....Shaun, what would you do../asking for a friend etc...

Ammi 10-04-2021 07:45 AM

...I’m thinking that I might ask James/Josy for more PM space so that I can hold answers and not delete them ...if I need to look back...I don’t know how much space you generally have taken up, Shaun...but I’m usually running on almost full anyway...

Ammi 10-04-2021 08:12 AM

...I just don’t want to add having to go through PMs atm to delete in bulk and I generally only delete around 10 or so at a time when that 90% warning thing comes up....

Calderyon 10-04-2021 08:22 AM

I'll do them before the deadline.

Niamh. 10-04-2021 10:48 AM

Ammi 11-04-2021 07:27 AM

I'll do mine later. I have to do some googling, I don't know the first thing about some of these TV shows. I wouldn't even know where to start on Drag race, Strictly, Great British bake off and Stranger things.

Alf 11-04-2021 09:24 PM

I'm not confident in this round, I'll be happy with being mid-table after this first round.

Shaun 12-04-2021 05:42 AM

Further answers from Alf, James and Denver now.

You have around 24 hours left to participate! :spin2:

Ammi 12-04-2021 05:56 AM

That's fine - everyone can change their answers (although more than once would get annoying, and I can't change my own even though I want to now I've seen everyone else's :bawling: I thought I was so clever with one of the answers, and it's so far got no back-up )

Ammi 12-04-2021 06:10 PM
