The Bill is to be rebooted 11 years after it was axed with the new name Sun Hill

The Bill is reportedly set for a comeback, with three of the hit show's biggest stars interested in making a return, more than a decade after the series ended.

It is understood that Graham Cole, Trudie Goodwin and Mark Wingett have been approached by writer Simon Sansome who has allegedly acquired the rights.

A source has also claimed that the idea for a reboot, thought to be named Sun Hill after the station where the series was based, really*kicked off after the original cast reconnected in 2020.

I hope this is true, go back to the old format too, not that weird super dramatic version.

Hmm, with it being called Sun Hill, maybe it will be about more than just the station?

Line of Duty could never.

Sun Hill
bring it on.

The Bill got ridiculous back in the day , it turned into a sillier version of Law & Order.

I absolutely hated when it went super serious and "cinematic", it went from being at its best to its absolute worst. They even got rid of the theme tune and the two coppers walking

I can't really remember it before the format change ... Am I right in thinking it was more "soap about coppers" rather than "police procedural" ?

LeatherTrumpet 17-04-2021 10:31 AM

the Bill was bloody awful

Tbf The Bill is probably the best Show that I've seen in the Soap meets Crime Procedural genre.

Rookie Blue
Chicago P.D
The Forest
Blackspot
The Sinner

Those five Shows in that field are/were truly awful Shows in that field imo.

So that's why they're protesting in London. Now I get it "Kill the Bill"

Sun Hill on ITV1HD
could do a great NEW
Storey/Episode on the Smelly Protestors
living in an Illegal Building.

Sun Hill Police Brake in
and find children locked in a basement

Now Alf
this could run for 3 Episodes
with a Tough Police Woman Fighting a Knife Man
in that illegal building
top floor.
