It's pretty fun, definitely go in with an open mind - I've seen a few saying it's not believable to see the main character go from scared and freezing in battle to a bad ass but the movie is about mutated animals what did they expect?

Spoiler:

Maybe it's just because I'm a horror fan but I wanted to see more death, they introduced some sick looking creatures but never really showed us why they were so scary.

I was annoyed that you legit only saw like 4 monsters in the whole film??

I enjoyed it, it was sort of pointless but a fun watch. I thought it felt interestingly "video gamey" from the start, I honestly have to wonder if there's a "Fallout" fan in the writing team. The little level 1 main character ventures out of his vault on a quest, and "levels up" along the way getting stronger with each big encounter. He even finds Dogmeat :joker:.

There were also some (very?) heavy influences "Zombieland" (the first one) in there.

As for the lack of seeing many monsters... I'd put that down to it being a Netflix produced movie. They don't have the CGI budget of a full on blockbuster.

And the lack of gore I guess is just because it's a 12 and being aimed at families and teens IMO.

I watched this last night with my 10 year old....he loved it. I enjoyed it as an easy to watch sunday night movie.

...it was just a fun monstapocalypse type movie...the casting of Hero and Dodge as Boy was inspired......it was impossible to tell them apart...very under appreciated dogs...
