Big Brother bosses are set to launch a pay per view service to screen footage to hot for channel 4.
It mean's fans will see all the steamy action from the house.

Viewers who subscribe to the nighttime channel will see uncensored footage from the BB house.

They are copying this off the american version. They were hoping to get it done in time for this year's BB.

A senior channel 4 ex saiD "it is a bl**** good idea and one we are disscusing.

This would be a great addition to our bb service."

well i wont be paying to watch people speak dirty to each other.

The proposal does not make any sense. Uncensored material is not possible. All material has to be censored to conform with the broadcasting code set by Ofcom. So in the UK there is no such thing as uncensored TV material.

Secondly once censored to suit the broadcasting code there is no reason why it cannot be shown on CH4 after the 9pm watershed for bad language and I think 10pm for the more explicit nudity.......Graphic sexual acts would be banned by the Ofcom code. However simple nudity would be permitted.

So there is no need for a Pay per view channel if all they want to do is show stronger material than they are showing now.

It was not on the website, but in the paper. I picked the story up off DS. What would I have to gain from making a story up? And because I picked it up from there with no link I started my post off with "apparently".

Actually you can have uncencored tv, on cable, if you type a password too prove you are over 18 its possible.

Virgin media uses that feature for film channels so they can put age 18 movies on all through the day. On that note if this was true it would probably be a virgin media exclusive.

But the idea seems abit... weird tbh.

If someone gets into a conversation about a transvestite uncle ....for instance, you will not hear a word of it and you will be paying for the tweeting birds.

Same goes for an awful lot of other subjects about the HM's life outside.

No you cannot have uncensored material on cable. 18 rated material is censored by the BBFC to be suitable for TV and cinema.......All TV content is regulated by Ofcom.


Some activities in the house could go beyond what is allowed in 18 rated films therfore cable or otherwise would be censored or fined a very large sum of money or retraction of their channel licence by Ofcom.....

Well explain how they have adult channels on cable then?

They are adult channels soft porn wise. They are not true adult channels. All material on those channels are severely censored to conform to Ofcom's broadcasting code.......

Three years ago Ofcom had a broadcasting code consultation of which I among others took part in. The results of which I am trying to expalin.

What you think of as adult material is in fact extremely tame and fully regulated to remain so.

There are possible scenerios that could occur in the BB house that would breach even what is allowed on what you think are adult channels......

You are right in saying the above that is why I too concluded they do not need a pay per view channel as there is little stopping them from airing stronger material in accordance with what you say is on cable...The only thing that they may be enforced to do is put the channel under "PIN" control after 10pm.....To try and prevent children from viewing.Which of course is no problem at all as all recievers have that capability.....

I thought they could show anything at night already, apart from advertising.

I know nothing about OFCOM rules and regs but i do remember BB showing two teenagers having sex.Ok we could only see the sheet movment but they were teens and we certainatley knew what was going on.Personally i think big TV companies can get away with pretty much what they want.

No they cannot get away with pretty much what they want. Censorship in this country is draconian and savage....and Ofcom fines are crippling and they can also remove their licence to broadcast....
