Uber Eats refusing to refund for a driver stealing my order

So yesterday I orded some stuff from Asda worth about £20 and the deiver came with the bag ripped open with just lettuce and cucumber in the bag and said that's how he received it but Asda said they sent the full order when I contacted them.

I spoken to Uber and they have refused to refund or look into the theft and keep saying I should rate the performance so they can improve.

Anyone any ideas what I can do?

I've never used them but do you pay with Paypal? If so I would raise a complaint through them and you will probably get a refund

bots 27-05-2021 12:41 PM

don't use uber eats again

Wrong type of weak shopping bag.

I pay through my bank but they said they can't do anything till the payment has cleared and it could take weeks if not months of investigation before I'm refunded

I never do but I didn't want to go all into town after work so thought I'd get some stuff to last till the weekend but I'll never use them again

Pity, Paypal are great for that. Looks like all you can do so is wait for the bank and give that driver a bad rating

The fact they are refusing to investigate a theft is pretty much confirming they encourage their drivers to steal

It's a sign from the universe that only the salad remained

That happened to me as well, but I got a refund.
Done it online.

wow anytime we have ordered Uber Eats, it is bagged really well, that was from restaurants though, never ordered from a supermarket

Uber’s customer service is honestly ridiculous.

Strictly Jake 27-05-2021 02:04 PM

These sort of companies aren't great. Just eat was alright until recently and orders starting taking at least an hour and a half to arrive and the customer service lines and chat etc is beyond awful. I've realised ringing the takeways you like direct it's tons cheaper too!!

…did you photograph the torn open bag with only those two items in and email it to Asda, Denver…?…

I've had contact with Asda but they said only Uber can issue a refund

bots 27-05-2021 03:33 PM

if your sales contract was with uber eats, its not for asda to do anything. eats should refund you and then they can sort it out between themselves and asda.

if they refuse to refund you, go on their social media and mention it and see what happens

…I agree with bots, I would talk to Uber Eats publicly on social media…I just found this thread on Reddit ….
https://www.reddit.com/r/UberEATS/co...r_no_delivery/

…I know that it’s an American situation but when the incident was brought to Twitter, it was resolved….
