Top medical/epidemiology experts including David Beckham and Dua Lipa, have signed a Unicef plea to the G7 to send large amounts of leftover doses to poorer nations.

The UK isn't fully vaccinated yet, so maybe wait until then before we talk about "leftovers" ...

To be fair, it might be in our best interests to help "vax the world" first because we're more at risk with rapidly developing new strains than we are with a portion of our own population unvaccinated.

On the other hand, a couple of million doses in a world of 7 billion people is really piss in the ocean. We don't need to be donating token boxes of unused doses, we need an international effort to build infrastructure and massively ramp up production for a "without borders" mass vaccination programme.

We also need to be ramping up Education, no point sending vac if they won’t take it, we have seen how hard it is here to reach some communities but the message is getting there now

…yeah this exactly, the world really needs to be aiming for the ‘same level’ in the process but it has to be a worldwide thing with all compliance from all countries…

we rely too heavily on the indian vaccination plant. We need a more distributed network of large vaccine plants. Then we could supply the world as much as it needed
