Trailer.

First episode was fine I thought

It was a bit more talky than I was expecting, and a lot of the best bits were in the trailer.

The first episode was... Fine.

It's got potential but I don't like the set up of the time cops, it feels a bit like a copout.

The other two have picked up significantly at episode 3/4 for me :joker: so I think I’ll wait until the whole thing is out and then binge this time.

I can't work out whether I'm intrigued or bored rigid.

Spoiler:

I also feel like Owen Wilson is going to be another Loki in disguise. Until someone with better Marvel knowledge than me tells me how that's not possible.

I've not watched any of it yet but I'd imagine it's totally possible, considering he can make himself look like anyone and successfully posed as Odin for several months until Thor got back to Asgard in Thor Ragnarok and outed him... so he has prior...

Although TECHNICALLY that was a different Loki (the one from the "main" timeline, who was killed by Thanos in Infinity War). This Loki has never posed as Odin. How confusing .

TBF that's exactly how I felt about WandaVision until episode 4.

True. I just feel like with only 6 episodes it's slightly slower than I expected.

But, with the ending to episode 2, things are moving forward nicely now.

It's watchable - I kind of like it. Episode 2 was still very wordy with large exposition drops about timey-wimey stuff.

I've realised I don't always like time-travel films and TV with some exceptions - Back to the Future, original Terminator. I like a lot of the Star Trek time-travel including Star Trek 4 and Quantum Leap of course. I think I prefer it when it is used as a form of travelling to another place rather than multiple time-lines type of thing.

My speculation about Loki is that...

Spoiler:

The Time Keepers will turn out to be someone we know, based on how they are hiding them just now.

Tom4784 17-06-2021 01:33 PM

The second episode was better than the first but it's still bogging itself down with exposition far too much.

I think having Wandavision out of the gate first has ruined my expectations for the other shows. F&TWS got good eventually but the first half was just kinda watchable while Loki has potential but I just don't know if I care about the time travel set up.

Marsh. 17-06-2021 01:34 PM

Yeah, I still feel like everything's going to be reset by the end anyway so that none of it mattered/happened.

James 23-06-2021 10:02 AM

A lot of this show is either walking and talking, or, sitting at tables and talking.

Niamh. 23-06-2021 10:05 AM

Watched the 1st 2 episodes so far, I'm enjoying it, I like the Loki and Mobius characters so I enjoy the walking and talking

Why are the credits so damn long on these shows? You get a 50 minute episode that turns out to be 15 minutes of end credits. :skull:

Is it just me or is the Loki - Sylvie flirting a bit... Luke and Leia. :umm2:

I don't understand who she is supposed to even be, is she supposed to be an other version of Loki and if so why is she female?

As far as I understand it she is an alternate universe Loki.

But I lost the thread at some point as I zoned out after the 100th heavy dialogue scene at a small table in a big room.

 Tbf I probably haven't been in the right frame of mind to concentrate properly when I put it on.

To be fair I’ve seen a lot of Twitter moaning about gender swapping and Loki being bisexual and what not but if you think about the actual canon (actual Norse mythology)… Loki was constantly shagging anything that moved, women, men, horses, swapping sex to give birth to giant snakes and wolves…….. it would be less true to the character if he WASN’T trying to have sex with an alternate version of himself.
