but i thought Eurovision was campy nonsense that had no bearing on real music :shrug:



It hit a peak of #12 on the UK singles chart last Friday and is currently at #8 in the mid-weeks update. They have two other songs in the top 100 (the Eurovision-winning Zitti e Buoni, and then a cover of Madcon's "Beggin'")

why did you think that?

dunno if this is contro but i didn't like their eurovision song.. but i also didn't like most ofthe top ones so tbf im glad they won instead if that french one or the one guy

The locals constantly ridicule Eurovision and proclaim it as a cheesy pastime that needs abolishing and that nobody credible competes.

Plus their really hasn't been a high charting song like this in years. Especially considering it's not even the winning entry so that makes it bigger news.

This. I'm trying hard not to like it I think. If I was in the right sort of mood I'd be loving it

…I’m edging away a little from the love bit as I listen…:laugh:…but I definitely don’t hate it, so….we’ll done to them, I’d love it to be #1 for them and am glad that it’s charting well…:love:…it’s also something lovely to be taken from Eurovision after our deflated vibe…

apart from the recent success for our winning song Arcade now in the US



and i watch many reaction videos myself, from americans reacting to eurovision songs and i don't hear negative 'too cheesy' comments but mainly praise for the show having lots of great singers, performers


as for 'nobody credible' competes, we don't need big name artists competing since they don't need this competition anymore (i mean we did have one huge maybe now has been but still a well known superstar Flo Rida competing and him being in awe of the whole show which is also fab to see)

I'm beginning to like these guys more and more and what they represent.

I wasn't fond of them to begin with because they came across like typical alternative young people that I find quite boring/off-putting (and I did also want France to win, lol), but their music is cool and they seem like perfectly fine people in interviews.

I welcome their success :p

they also gave a interview to one of our radio channels 3FM, and they confirmed there will be more songs in english, they even had a chat with Miley Cyrus for a possible collab idea, and regarding their concert tour next year

They are about to get their 3rd top 40 hit in just 4 weeks, if you would have wsaud in April that one of this years Eurovision acts would have 3 top 40 songs in the month after Eurovision you would be admitted to a mental hospital
