Most unattractive human emotion

What feelings do you have such a dislike for that you’ll avoid people who show said feelings? Is jealousy the one thing you hate to see most in a person or does anger make you feel most uncomfortable?

Jealousy top, closely followed by arrogance/snobbery/"God complex".

I actually find people who are shy or seem timid quite endearing tbh.

thesheriff443 09-07-2021 02:51 AM

we live our lives our based on our emotions and that of others.
Someone’s anger usually causes someone else fear

For me I’d say it’s self pity or thinking the world owes you a favour
Or blaming others for your own mistakes

Smugness - specifically smugness “as part of a group”. One person being a bit smug on an individual level, fine, but a merry band of smug arseholes patting each other on the back? Awful.

Is that an emotion though? Debatable I suppose. I’d argue that it is a quite specific feeling.

I think tibb is the trigger.

Is that for me to answer?

Ammi 09-07-2021 07:59 AM

…no it was just an observation, 5 posts and a TiBB association…it’s what popped into my thoughts with no meaning other than the ‘5 degrees of separation rule’….

Jealousy is a big one.

Unfortunately, it’s innate in a lot of us.

We don’t even realise we’re doing it and it rears its ugly head in many ways.

hhmmm Bitterness is one I find very unattractive and damaging.

From the list Anger or jealousy probably

Ammi 09-07-2021 09:09 AM

…holding on to negativity and resurfacing it etc, I would say is fairly damaging and harmful to a person staying in that place more than anyone…

Liam- 09-07-2021 09:10 AM

Jealousy and arrogance definitely, a little bit of possessiveness can be cute sometimes, but full on ‘you’re not allowed to speak to anybody’ jealousy is a complete deal breaker

…I do hope that it’s me that you’re talking to, Liam…I mean I’m assuming that it is but you really need to be quoting me directly always so that I know that you’re not talking to others….

caprimint 09-07-2021 09:45 AM

Jealousy and anger probably

I vote arrogance/ pride,

But the more I think about it... the answer is bigotry.

I wouldn’t say bigotry is an emotion though more of a character trait. Fuelled by a few things; anger, fear, arrogance, pride, stubbornness…

LeatherTrumpet 11-07-2021 03:52 PM

It was Carl Jung who said it first: “Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves”....
