Ladies why do you ask?

Ladies why do you ask the following

Weight, do you think I’ve put on weight ?
Clothes, how does this look ?
Food, how does it taste ?

Because when we reply, you just say your just saying that.

And to be fair any man knows giving the wrong answer means a world of pain.

ThomasC 11-07-2021 08:45 AM

Self esteem and confidence.

And they already know the answer to the question they’re asking, but want affirmation and self approval.

But they don’t get a honest answer

Food, how does it taste ?

…Im a lady who seriously doesn’t ask…us ladies are all quite different as I expect men are as well…

…I’m someone who finds it difficult to put on weight but if I did…?…I would know that I had because of the fit of my clothes and any changes…

…I know how my clothes look on me and I’m fine with that….

…how does it taste, I don’t understand that but…I would try something to find out if I don’t know the taste of it…

If a woman has cooked a meal they will ask how does it taste.

Surely thats good manners though? You don't want to serve something that the person eating it doesn't like the taste of?

Men also ask that question if they've cooked too...in my experience

Only if its a new receipe, and I am sure men who cook would do the same

With Ammi on the weight thing, I have bathroom scales so I know myself

…oh yeah, I see what you mean…I didn’t understand…as Annie said …I would say that many people, male and female will just say, is it ok..?…especially if it’s a less familiar recipe/dish etc…oh sorry, Cherie said that as well../edit…

…self esteem/..confidence isn’t a gender prone specific thing, though…

…well that would be silly if someone didn’t actually like the dish because they would possibly then get it again and again…and again…and again…and again…so it would be mocking the cook a little in them thinking they were making something that was enjoyed when it wasn’t…

…I can’t see why any female would take offence if a recipe isn’t liked, we can only know if we like things by trying them …

I don't understand what you mean?

If you went to a big effort preparing a meal for someone would you not enquire if they liked the taste? Would you go into a mood because someone didn't like it? I would be disappointed but wouldn't take the hump.

Us TiBB ladies are level headed thats all

Its not just women Sheriff....apart from the food, they are questions my husband frequently asks me...
Personally and apart from the food question...I never ask because I know when I have put on weight and I know if I look good in something...

Some people don't like to weigh themselves,so they might just look in the mirror and feel "fat" and then ask others opinions.

I was referring to myself, and the above would apply as much to men as women would it not?
