Richmond sausages

Why are they so popular?

Raw they look disgusting, cooked they look awful and the taste is so inferior to any other decent sausage on the market yet they are apparently the most popular sausage in the country? Is it just because they're a few pence cheaper? Always worth spending a tiny bit more given the difference in quality imo

Hope nobody here buys these pseudosausages

they are simply the worst sausages you can buy. The best place to get sausages is your local butcher

most sausages are pretty awful in my experience. I've had a couple where they have been made with quality meat and it's just not the same beast. It's like mince, the only decent mince i have ever had is where i have stood and watched the butcher mince up a quality piece of meat

Agreed, sadly forgot to get the sausages for my breakfast this morning till last night so I am having Tesco finest Lincolnshire sausages which are pretty good

The town I used to work in had a butchers which did a chipotle and jalapeno sausage, hands down the best sausage I have tasted

Richmond are grim

Clonakilty sausages or nothing...

I like cheap and nasty sausages with a breakfast. Yea there are better quality sausages but those are “dinner sausages” that you’d have with mash, peas and gravy. Sausages in a morning roll with butter and ketchup have to be crap like Richmond.

Richmond skinny sausages are the only ones I like.

My dad gets some spicy ones from the butchers that my son loves but not for me.

Because people are poor and don’t want to pay for better quality.

They look awful.
Butchers all the way, or at a push Tesco finest.

Richmonds aren’t even the cheapest though, £2/2.50 a pack, if this was true people would be buying supermarket own brand for like 90p.

Tescos finest caramelised onion sausages are the best pre packed sausage you can buy.

I only like the thin ones

I think it's just what some people are brought up on

Never been a fan of Richmond, they're so plain but I'll eat them if those were the only option.

But I prefer Cumberland ones , usually one that's caramelised .
