will be interesting to see how he copes with it

Oliver_W 17-07-2021 12:49 PM

He's in reasonable shape and has been double-jabbed, so chances are he'll be fine.

Watch the double-jabbed Health Secretary end up in ICU with Delta++ 6.0 Marshmallow.

Zizu 17-07-2021 01:13 PM

Can we presume that he’s been following all the guidelines?

Once again not following his own rules about social distancing....surly everyone who was in parliament with him now has to isolate?

He was probably snogging his staff as well.

i don't think anyone has been following restrictions for weeks. That's fundamentally why the case numbers are going up the way they are. If people were social distancing the numbers just wouldn't be that high. I also think that millions of viewers watched the crowds at wembley from the semis onward and thought ... wtf ... why am i bothering when the government lets this happen

Tbh lots of people just appreciate that there's not as much need to distance when the vast majority have good protection against Covid and it's no longer going to be required from Monday

I've hardly seen anyone who's objected to the Wembley crowd or felt affronted by it

DouglasS 17-07-2021 05:40 PM

So glad he’s lifting restrictions :clap1:

It’s now or never, all adults have had the choice of vaccination, if we don’t lift now we never will because it’ll be autummn… then winter…. Then the vaccine antibodies will have left us/fallen… back to the beginning

He seems even more reckless than hopeless Hancock.

He was visiting a care home last week too wasn't he.
Hope he ensured he followed full safety measures.
The ones he's now recklessly removing.

Zizu 17-07-2021 09:41 PM

Presumably Boris and all the others will have to self isolate now ??

Cases of Covid-19 in double-vaccinated people are continuing to rise, the latest data from the ZOE Covid study suggests.
It follows anecdotal reports from GPs that they are seeing increasing numbers of patients testing positive despite being double jabbed but a general reluctance to get tested.
A weekly update from the
ZOE
study at King’s College London, said there were currently 15,537 new daily symptomatic cases in partly or fully vaccinated people, an increase of 40% from 11,084 new cases last week.

By contrast in unvaccinated people in the UK there are currently an average of 17,581 new daily PCR-confirmed symptomatic cases of Covid, according to the ZOE figures, a drop of 22% from the week before.
It suggests the number of new cases in
the vaccinated population
is set to overtake the unvaccinated in the coming days, the team noted.
Data from Public Health England shows that there have been 10,834 people hospitalised with the Delta variant after being double-vaccinated out of a total of 123,620 total cases.
