How do you like your (half) pints?

Do you drink standard pints or do you mix them with tops/cordial?

Hoegaarden with a slice of lemon.

Cherie 22-07-2021 01:14 PM

Where is the yuk option

The only time I add cordial to my drink is when I don’t want to pay the additional price for Dark Fruits (so I add a dash of blackcurrant cordial). Otherwise plain.

I have not had a pint in a pub since 2019

Oh well. The pandemic didn’t even get going until March 2020 so what were you doing during January and February that year?

I don't like lager. It makes me heave, even the smell of it.

I love a cider and black depending on how sharp or dry the cider is.

A poplar draft cider is aspalls but i find it too dry so the dash of blackcurrent compliments it

Love a refreshing lager. Cider is gross.

In half pints, or pints?

Cause a pints a pint, like.

Just standard. I’ve never tried a lager top.

Tireur 23-07-2021 03:22 PM

Not a beer drinker, tried it in my teens and it made me feel bloated, although I had a couple of Lone Star Long Necks on Padre Island, TX when the temps were in the low nineties and the bottles were smeared with condensation, and obviously cold.
I only drink vodka, preferably Grey Goose, Absolut, or Belvedere, but I won’t say no to Smirnoff.
I only add ice, no fruit, and if I know that I’m in for a long session, sometimes I’ll have Schweppes tonic to spread the alcohol out a bit.

A friend of mine ordered a lager tops when we were like 17 and has literally never recovered from that social faux pas. It was a dog rough Ayrshire pub and he had to explain to the barmaid what it was… and he fancied her… and she hooted with laughter. It was a great day for the rest of us :joker:.

Anywhoo I don’t drink much at all now but I was never a pint-drinker, Tended towards Jack & coke. But it was cider if I absolutely had to.

i've had lager and lime in the past, very refreshing on a warm day and a lager/beer top is basically a shandy ... so it is what it is

edit: in my youth a lager an blackcurrant was a firm favourite with everyone and resulted in particularly attractive vomit
