Anti Vaxxers Are Selfish says Michael Gove

You Selfish Fools

[People who turn down Covid vaccination
are "selfish" and put others' lives at risk,
Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove has said.
He warned that those declining a jab could see
themselves barred from events requiring
"a certain level of safety".
The government has already said it plans
mandatory vaccination for nightclubs
in England from September.
Ministers are also considering
requiring proof
of vaccination from fans attending
sports venues.

As of Monday, 88.1% of adults in
the UK have received their first dose
of a coronavirus vaccine,
while 70.5% have been fully vaccinated.

Studies have linked vaccination to
a reduced likelihood of infection and
transmission, although the double-jabbed
can still catch and transmit Covid.]

me for example

i've been vaccinated as a child

it's more just for some reason i don't quite trust any of the covid vaccines, and since i am not someone who socializes (like i'm the one of the most introverted people out there) why take a risk at something you do not trust

smudgie 28-07-2021 08:26 AM

Maybe some are more ignorant than selfish.

bitontheslide 28-07-2021 08:32 AM

there is a big difference between taking a vaccine that has been around for 6 months and one that has been around for 20 years. There is a big difference in taking a vaccine for something that could kill you and something that will have zero impact on you personally if you don't take it. I think it's a particularly bad look when someone of an older generation tries to guilt the younger generation into doing something

This government's Ministers have not learned one major thing during this whole pandemic.
That is how to talk TO and not AT people, or how to talk about people too.

Gove no doubt will say he's been quoted out of context and even be believed by some.

I just wish they'd even try to think before they actually set about saying what they end up saying.

we have millions of people in this country who think that an invisible god rules the universe and made the earth 8000 years ago so anti-vaxers come as no surprise

No

of course not

Cherie 28-07-2021 02:49 PM

We now seem to be in a place where some think they better than everyone else? people make decisions about their own lives and long may that continue

Glenn. 28-07-2021 03:23 PM

They should be penned up together and away from the healthy

Exactly my thoughts also. Smoking also kills people around you, yet that has not been banned. People have a right to freedoms and their own choices

But you won't have it, because you feel you dont need it?

Toy Soldier 28-07-2021 06:00 PM

As always, my opinion is that vaccinating is the sensible choice but that I am deeply uncomfortable with any medical procedure being compulsory - whether that’s by law, or through coercion, or exclusion, or shaming.

Honesty and proper education has always been the answer but the status-quo for years has been to lie/misinform when it comes to vaccination, and the result is increased distrust.

Smoking is banned in pubs and clubs and the workplace.

I'll let him be the expert on selfishness.
