Definitely this.

Also pointless flashbacks.

Gay being used as a plotline. Bore off, it's 2021. Have gay characters, sure, but don't write storylines around someone being gay. No one cares.

Mike Ross nearly getting caught every season.

Not a gay character, but I've definitely felt similar with a character in NCIS: Los Angeles with a character named Roundtree, to me they seem to treat him as just the black guy rather than giving him an interesting personality, or interesting dynamics.

That seems to be a Current Year thing in Hollywood. People's surface level traits are their entire personality...

I agree with this sadly.

In fairness to NCIS: LA they do have Sam who's a good character for ethnic diversity, but he was created 13 years ago now before your race, sexuality, or gender were your main trait on American TV.

Also Killjoys had Dutch who was a fantastic lead, but sadly it is few and far between nowadays to get characters like her imo.

I think there are far too many police dramas that are all the same. Also controversial but line of duty is one of the most overrated TV shows of all time
