i was going to Tuscany that day and woke up and there was sad music on my radio alarm and i thought that is weird and had a shower and came out and heard. Huge news

put a weird sort of cloud on the holiday. i watched the funeral outside in Italy in a rose garden with all of ex-mrs Lts family. We all stood up for the national anthem - sounds weird now but at the time it wasnt.

We were going for Sunday lunch at my S-I-l s house.
Hadn’t heard a thing about it, but it was eerily quiet on the way there, and the beach was all but empty.
Really sad day, lots of tears and no Sunday dinner.

it was quite a surreal week. The queens popularity nose dived

I'm sure we've all been hurt and shocked a lot more than diane dying. As sad as it was at the time.

When someone dies so young and in the prime of their life…it has a greater impact because it is so tragic.

I remember waking up to be news, thinking she had been injured but was alive but then realised she had died, it really was the most surreal time

I remember getting up nice and early as I usually would to watch all my kids TV shows teenage mutant turtles etc and every channel was taken up by this woman Diana that I hadn't ever heard of being only 7. So I walked upstairs to my mum and dad's bedroom and said mum and dad Diana is dead so I can't watch TV. My mum came running down the stairs. For the funeral they had loads of people round to watch it on TV they all wore black and wore hats. It was very weird

I can remember where I was. I'm pretty certain it was a Saturday night/early hours Sunday, because I'd been out, gone back to a mates and then went home about 1am, got in bed turned the telly on and the reports was of a crash she'd been in. I went to sleep and woke up the next morning to the news she was a gonner.
